Procedure
Vapor degrease the part if necessary for half a minute. Refer to TASK 70-11-01-300-503.
SUBTASK 70-33-80-300-001 Remove the Grease
Put the parts fully in to one of the nickel strip solutions (refer to the SPM TASK 70-33-80-100-501) at a temperature of 90 to 110 deg F (32 to 43 deg C).
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-09-120-501 for the procedure to grit blast. Use one of the grits given below:

CAUTION
YOU MUST USE A WIRE BRUSH WHICH HAS BRISTLES OF AUSTENITIC CORROSION RESISTANT STEEL.If necessary, remove any remaining coating with a tampico or wire brush, or by wet abrasive blasting (refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-08-300-503 or SPM TASK 70-12-06-120-501), or by grit blast as in step H.(1).

CAUTION
YOU MUST NOT LET THE GRIT BLAST STAY IN ONE AREA OF THE PART OR DAMAGE WILL OCCUR. AREAS THAT ARE NOT COATED ARE EASILY DAMAGED.Examine the parts. If the coatings have not been removed completely then grit blast as necessary until the coatings are completely removed.
Preserve the part for a half to one minute at room temperature in CoMat 10-028 CORROSION PREVENTIVE SLUSHING OIL, or CoMat 10-029 CORROSION PREVENTIVESLUSHING OIL, or CoMat 10-030 CORROSION PREVENTIVESLUSHING OIL, or CoMat 12-015 CORROSION PREVENTIVE, FINGERPRINT REMOVER, or CoMat 12-016 CORROSION PREVENTIVE THIN FILM, or CoMat 12-027A CORROSION PREVENTIVE COMPOUND, if necessary.
SUBTASK 70-33-80-300-002 Remove the Plasma Coating

CAUTION
YOU MUST NOT LET THE PARTS STAY IN THE SOLUTION FOR MORE THAN A MAXIMUM OF 60 MINUTES.
