NONESafety Requirements
NONEProcedure
Do the necessary steps by the instructions in Pre-Rig the Engine for Testing. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-020.
Remove the seal from the end of the breather outlet pipe.
Install IAE 1P16205 Adapter 1 off on the end of the breather outlet pipe and secure with the bolts and nuts.
Connect an air hose to the larger adapter.
Connect a gage to the smaller adapter.
The temperature of the air supplied must be less than 325 deg F (160 deg C).
Do not hold more than 10 psig (68.9 kPa) maximum at the gearbox.
Supply and hold 7 psig (48.3 kPa) of air pressure at the gearbox.
All of the areas on the gearbox and the angle gearbox where there are bolt on accessories, joints, and tube connections.
Apply CoMat 10-045 LEAK CHECK FLUID, BUBBLES-TYPE or a soap and water solution at these locations.
Repair all leaks that you find.
Disconnect the lines one at a time at the four locations.
Disconnect the lines at the gearbox end or at the drain mast end.
If necessary, disconnect the seal drain lines for the hydraulic pump, starter, integrated drive generator and fuel pump.
Connect Hoses 1 off to each of the seal drains. Put the hose over the Connectors.
There can be some leakage (bubbles). If it is possible to count the number of slowly made bubbles, the leakage is satisfactory.
A seal which has leaks (bubbles) which are fast and sufficient to move the water is not satisfactory.
Put the open end of the flexible hose in the small bottle of water and look for bubbles.
Turn off the air pressure supply to the gearbox.
Repair the leaks and test again, as necessary.
Install all of the seal drain parts which were removed and connect all of the lines which were disconnected.
Remove the adapter.
Do the necessary steps by the instructions in De-Rig the Engine after Testing. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-021.
