TASK 72-00-50-050-003 LPT Module Components - Remove The No.4 Bearing Compartment Air Cooler (ACAC), Removal-012

General

This TASK gives the procedure to remove the No.4 Bearing Compartment Air Cooler (ACAC).

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha-variants refer to the IPC.

For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the Fig/item number.

Apply the approved CoMat 10-058 PENETRATING OIL before the removal of threaded parts. Let the parts soak before removal.

Discard all rubber seal rings removed in this procedure.

The ACAC removed in the procedure must have their maintenance completed, as given in the Marston Palmer Component Maintenance Manual (75-22-41).

Seal all openings when the components are disconnected to prevent contamination from unwanted material.

NOTE

To identify the consumable materials refer to the PCI.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-50-060-051 Disconnect the Outlet Duct

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the coupling ACAC Exhaust Duct And Housing (75-22-48, 01-020) and remove the seal ACAC Exhaust Duct And Housing (75-22-48, 01-030).

    3. Disconnect the ACAC duct ACAC Exhaust Duct And Housing (75-22-48, 01-010) from the duct assembly.

    4. Discard the seal.

    2. SUBTASK 72-00-50-060-052 Disconnect the Cold Air Buffer Air Tubes

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove three bolts Bearing Compartment Cooling And Sealing Air Tubes (75-22-49, 08-106) from the air tube Bearing Compartment Cooling And Sealing Air Tubes (75-22-49, 08-100) and remove the washer Bearing Compartment Cooling And Sealing Air Tubes (75-22-49, 08-108). Discard the washer.

    3. Remove three bolts AIR-BEARING COMPARTMENT COOLING & SEALING TUBES (75-22-49,10-114) from the air tube AIR-BEARING COMPARTMENT COOLING & SEALING TUBES (75-22-49,10-100) and the brackets AIR-BEARING COMPARTMENT COOLING & SEALING TUBES (75-22-49,10-060) and AIR-BEARING COMPARTMENT COOLING & SEALING TUBES (75-22-49,10-070) and remove the washer AIR-BEARING COMPARTMENT COOLING & SEALING TUBES (75-22-49,10-116). Discard the washer.

    3. SUBTASK 72-00-50-050-055 Remove the No. 4 Bearing Compartment Air Cooler

    1. Refer to Figure.

    3. Hold the weight of the air cooler.

    5. Remove the air cooler No. 4 Bearing Compartment Cooler Air Ducts (75-22-41, 01-100).

    4. SUBTASK 72-00-50-050-056 Remove the Air Inlet Duct and the Air Outlet Duct

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the nuts No. 4 Bearing Compartment Cooler Air Ducts (75-22-41, 01-310) and the bolts No. 4 Bearing Compartment Cooler Air Ducts (75-22-41, 01-315) and remove the air inlet duct No. 4 Bearing Compartment Cooler Air Ducts (75-22-41, 01-300).

    3. Remove the nuts No. 4 Bearing Compartment Cooler Air Ducts (75-22-41, 01-410) and the bolts No. 4 Bearing Compartment Cooler Air Ducts (75-22-41, 01-415) and remove the air outlet duct No. 4 Bearing Compartment Cooler Air Ducts (75-22-41, 01-400).
