Safety Requirements

WARNING

DO NOT GET ENGINE FUEL ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND IN TO YOUR BODY.

WARNING

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU WORK ON THE ENGINE COMPONENTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ENGINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE COMPONENTS CAN STAY HOT FOR UP TO ONE HOUR.

CAUTION

DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-60-450-153 Install the Coupling from the Overflow Port of Oil Tank

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Lubricate the new packing POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-110) with CoMat 10-039 ENGINE OIL.

    3. Install the new packing POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-110) and coupling POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-120) in the oil tank overflow port.

    4. Torque the coupling POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-120) to 200 lbfin. - 225 lbfin. (22.6 - 25.4 Nm).

    5. Install the new dust cap POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-100) on the coupling POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-120) and attach the lanyard to the oil tank.

    6. Safety the coupling POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-120) with CoMat 02-147 LOCKWIRE.

    2. SUBTASK 72-00-60-450-154 Install the Coupling from the Pressure Fill Port of Oil Tank

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Lubricate the new packing POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-140) with CoMat 10-039 ENGINE OIL.

    3. Install the new packing POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-140) and coupling POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-150) in the oil tank pressure fill port.

    4. Torque the coupling POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-150) to 70 lbfin. - 80 lbfin. (8 - 9 Nm).

    5. Install the new dust cap POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-130) on the coupling POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-150) and attach the lanyard to the oil tank.

    6. Safety the coupling POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE (71-00-20, 02-150) with CoMat 02-147 LOCKWIRE.
