Safety Requirements
NONEProcedure
Refer to Figure.
Use Non-metallic scraper.
Discard the removed 5A0119 RAFT - ASSEMBLY OF.

CAUTION
TAKE EXTREME CARE NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FAN DISK AND THE REAR RAMP.Remove the damaged or peeled Rear Ramp without any damage to the parent material and remove the remaining unwanted adhesive from the removed 5A1947 PLATE - RAMP REAR and the fan disk.
Reject it if cracked or sharp cornered.
The thickness of Rear Ramp must be less than 0.438 in. (11.125 mm).
Visually examine the 5A1947 PLATE - RAMP REAR.
SUBTASK 72-31-12-350-062 Remove the Damaged Rear Ramp from the Stage 1 Fan Disk Assembly
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
Fluorescent penetrant examine the repair surfaces.

Refer to Figure.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501, SUBTASK 70-36-02-360-010.
Cold liquid degrease the mating surfaces.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501, SUBTASK 70-36-02-360-010.
Alternative to abrasive blast, hand clean with CoMat 05-126 ABRASIVE PAD, ALUMINUM OXIDE, VERY FINE and/or CoMat 05-127 ABRASIVE PAD may be applied.

CAUTION
CoMat 05-016 GARNET PAPER, 80-GRIT AND CoMat 05-017 GARNET PAPER, 60 GRIT IN THE SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501, SUBTASK 70-36-02-360-010 MUST NOT BE USED DURING HAND CLEANING BECAUSE IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE GARNET PAPER DAMAGES THE SURFACE.Mask the areas which do not include the bonding areas and dry abrasive blast the mating surface.
Use a clean soft brush with clean CoMat 01-201 DISTILLED, DEIONIZED, DEMINERALIZED, OR REVERSE OSMOSIS (RO) WATER and clean CoMat 01-031 ACETONE (CH3)2CO.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501, SUBTASK 70-36-02-360-010.
Do a break-test to make sure that the mating surface is clean.
SUBTASK 72-31-12-360-054 Prepare the Mating Surface of the Fan Disk for the Two Part Low Temperature Curing Sealant/Adhesive, Assembly A
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Locally swab degrease the mating surface.
Abrade mating surfaces with abrasive pad soaked in solvent.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Swab degrease the mating surface and allow to evaporate.
SUBTASK 72-31-12-360-055 Prepare the Mating Surface of the Fan Disk for Adhesive Tape (Double Sided), Assembly B
Refer to Figure.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501, SUBTASK 70-36-02-360-010.
Degrease mating surfaces of Rear Ramp.
SUBTASK 72-31-12-360-001 Prepare the Mating Surface of the Rear Ramp for the Two Part Low Temperature Curing Sealant/Adhesive, Assembly A
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Swab degrease the mating surface of the Rear Ramp.
Any air bubbles, creases and wrinkles are not permitted.

CAUTION
DO NOT REMOVE THE BACKING PAPER OF THE ADHESIVE TAPE (DOUBLE SIDED) UNTIL IT IS ATTACHED TO THE FAN DISK.Attach the adhesive tape on the mating surface.
Adjust the adhesive tape to align with the specified dimensions.
SUBTASK 72-31-12-360-057 Prepare the Mating Surface of the Rear Ramp for Adhesive Tape (Double Sided), Assembly B
NOTE
If you use a new Rear Ramp, this task is not necessary.Use CoMat 08-015 RESIN and CoMat 08-016 HARDENER.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501, SUBTASK 70-36-02-360-004.
Make-up the adhesive from two parts.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501, SUBTASK 70-36-02-360-021.
Apply mixture to each of the mating surfaces of the Rear Ramp and the groove bottom flat surface of the fan disk.
Sink the Rear Ramp max 0.02 in. (0.5 mm) with IAE 3J12734 Setting gage 1 off and apply sufficient pressure with toggle clamps to ensure good contact.
Attach masking tapes to toggle clamps.
Make sure that compound can be seen around the sealed surfaces.
Install the Rear Ramp to the disk.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501, SUBTASK 70-36-02-360-021.
