Use Portablegrinding equipment and Abrasive wheel.
The circumferential length of the blended area is to be 50 times the depth.

CAUTION
TITANIUM COMPONENT - YOU MUST USE SILICON CARBIDE TYPE ABRASIVE WHEELS, STONES AND PAPERS TO DRESS, BLEND AND POLISH THIS COMPONENT. ALUMINIUM OXIDE TYPE MUST NOT BE USED. IF MECHANICAL CUTTERS ARE USED, ONLY LIGHT CUTS MUST BE MADE TO AVOID OVERHEATING THE MATERIAL.
CAUTION
TITANIUM COMPONENT - AVOID BUILD UP OF HEAT BY APPLYING ONLY GENTLE PRESSURE AND KEEPING THE TOOL SPEED AS LOW AS POSSIBLE. USE TECHNIQUES WHICH ALLOW FOR PROGRESSIVE WEAR OF THE DRESSING MEDIA TO PRESENT A CONTINUALLY FRESH CUTTING SURFACE TO THE WORK PIECE.
CAUTION
DO NOT DWELL ON ONE AREA OF THE COMPONENT.
CAUTION
DRESS, WHERE POSSIBLE IN A CIRCULAR MOTION; TAKING LIGHT CUTS TO AVOID OVERHEATING.
CAUTION
TITANIUM COMPONENT - YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU REMOVE MATERIAL, BLEND AND POLISH, TO MAKE SMOOTH, THAT NO SPARKS ARE PRODUCED AND THE ADJACENT AREA IS MASKED OFF.Blend to remove the damage from the blade abutment face.
Surface finish must be the same as the adjacent area.

Polish the blended area.

Use a Magnifying Glass, 10x.
Make sure that there are no nicks, scratches, dents, scores and galls in the blended area.
Visually examine the blended area.
Measure and record the dimensions of the blended area.

Chemically clean.

Swab etch the blended area.

No cracks are permitted.
Examine the blended area for cracks.

Clean the repair area.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-34-01-340-501 and TASK 70-34-18-380-501SPM TASK 70-34-18-380-501.
Apply masking tape to areas which are not to be given plasma spray.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-34-01-340-501.
Grit blast the blade abutment face.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-34-01-340-501 and TASK 70-34-18-380-501 SPM TASK 70-34-18-380-501.
Renew masking tape to areas which are not to be given plasma spray, if necessary.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-34-01-340-501.
Apply the plasma spray coating a sufficient thickness which will be permitted the final machining.
Plasma spray the blade abutment face.
Use non-metallic hand scraper.
Remove masking tape and any over spray coat.
SUBTASK 72-31-13-340-001 Plasma Spray the Blade Abutment Face
The minimum plasma spray coating thickness in the deepest part of each plasma sprayed area is 0.004 in. (0.10 mm).
Set up and machine the blade abutment face and Diameter C to the dimensions given in the figure.
SUBTASK 72-31-13-320-002 Machine the Blade Abutment Face after Plasma Spray
Make sure that there are no chips, cracks, lifted materials and the coating that is not attached to base material in the repaired area.
Use a Magnifying Glass, 10x.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-34-01-340-501.
Visually examine the repaired area.
Dimensionally examine the repaired area.
