General

This TASK gives the procedure to clean the stub shaft assembly. For the other parts of the LP stub shaft and rotor center, refer to TASK 72-32-51-100-000.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-51-110-051 Remove the Soft Dirt and Dust

      1. NOTE

        This Step is an alternative to Step.

        Remove the soft dirt and dust. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503

      1. Use a soft bristle brush or swab.

      2. Dry.

      1. Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-51-110-060 Remove the Soft Dirt and Dust

    1. CAUTION

      WIPE ALL WATER AFTER CLEANING FOR PREVENTING RUST ON STUB SHAFT.

      NOTE

      This Step is an alternative to Step.

      Remove the soft dirt and dust. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-03-300-503

      2. Dry.

      1. Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-51-110-052 Remove the Corrosion Resistant Coating from the Stub Shaft Assembly

      1. Immerse the shaft in the deruster solution. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-16-300-503

      2. Wash the shaft.

      1. Use cold water. Use an air/water pressure gun.

        NOTE

        Do not immerse the part in alkaline permanganate or chromic acid solutions.

      3. Dry the shaft.

      1. Clean dry air blast.

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-51-620-051 Apply the Protective Oil to the Stub Shaft Assembly

      1. Immerse the shaft in the protection oil. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-22-300-503

    2. Drain the oil from the shaft.

      3. Wrap the shaft.

      1. Use clean polythene or flexible grease proof sheet.
