General

This TASK gives the procedure to standard clean the LP compressor booster stage blades.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK number are in the SPM.

NOTE

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-82-110-054 Remove the Sealing Strip

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove the sealing strip.

      2. Use hand tools take care not to damage the blade surface.

      1. Remove remaining adhesive.

      2. Use a wooden scraper.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-82-110-055 Remove Soft Dirt and Dust

    2. Soak. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-03-300-503

      1. Dry.

      2. Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-82-110-056-001 Remove Dry Film Lubricant

    2. NOTE

      This SUBTASK and Step are alternatives.

      Soak. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-06-300-503.

      1. Wash.

      2. Use cold water. Use an air/water pressure gun.

      1. Blast. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-07-120-501.

      2. Dry abrasive plastic blast. Maximum blast pressure - 15psi (103.5 kPa) pressure type machine, 30psi (207kPa) suction type machine.

      1. NOTE

        If the dry film lubricant is present, repeat the operation A to D.

        Wash.

      2. Use cold water. Use an air/water pressure gun.

      1. Dry.

      2. Use clean dry air blast.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-82-110-056-002 Remove Dry Film Lubricant

      1. NOTE

        This SUBTASK and Step are alternatives.

        Remove the dry film lubricant from the blade roots. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-29-300-503.

      2. Cold acid paint and dry film lubricant stripper.
