NONEProcedure
Use water blast jet. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-15-01-160-501. Make a test piece of AMS4132.
Remove the damaged abradable seal
SUBTASK 72-32-83-360-132-002 Remove the Damaged Abradable seal
Refer to Figure.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
SUBTASK 72-32-83-220-242 Examine the Surface from which Silicon Rubber Compound are to be removed
Refer to Figure.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.
SUBTASK 72-32-83-380-135 Apply Surface Protection to the LPC Case Assembly
Refer to Figure.
Use CoMat 05-038 SILICON CARBIDE ABRASIVE or CoMat 05-050 SILICON CARBIDE GRIT. Use a dry blast system cabinet with air pressure of 76.9 to 87.0 psi (530.21 to 599.84 kPa) at a minimum distance of 6 in. (152.4 mm) from the air nozzle to the component surface.
Use CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH made moist with CoMat 01-031 ACETONE (CH3)2CO or CoMat 01-124 ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL.
SUBTASK 72-32-83-120-077 Clean the Surface which are to be applied with Silicon Rubber Compound
NOTE
After cleaning, the component must not be touched by hand and must be covered with the craft paper to prevent contamination.NOTE
The primed surface must have a pale pink color. If there is no color, the primer layer is not continuous. If the color is bright, streaky bright or chalky, the primer is to thick.Keep the primer in a small container for single use only. Do not use the primer that remains.Within eight hours after cleaning , prime the surface of the molding with a clean cloth and then immediately wipe off any excess primer with another clean cloth.
Use CoMat 08-032 PRIMER. Refer to SPM TASK 70-36-06-360-501.
The thickness of the primer layer must be 0.0001 in. (0.003 mm).
Cure the primed surface. Refer to SPM TASK 70-36-06-360-501.
SUBTASK 72-32-83-360-136 Apply Primer to the Surfaces after Cleaning
Use IAE 3J12804 Molding fixture 1 off.
SUBTASK 72-32-83-360-137 Mold the Silicon Rubber Compound
Refer to Figure.
No signs of bulging or air leakage are permitted.
Use for inspection air or nitrogen gas.
Gas pressure must be 200 psi (1380 kPa).
Change the inspection position as necessary to examine the not fully repaired areas.
The probe angle is approximately 45 degrees.
Use IAE 3J12775 Bond test fixture 1 off, IAE 3J12785 Inspection stand 1 off and IAE 3J12792 Inspection stand 1 off.
SUBTASK 72-32-83-220-231 Do a bond Test of the Repaired Area
