    1. SUBTASK 72-41-13-320-053 Machine the No. 4 Bearing, Front Seal and Seal Spacer Mating Diameters Before Plating

      1. Set-up and machine the No. 4 bearing front seal mating diameter to the dimension given in the figure.

        1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

        2. Keep the machining to the maximum diameter.

      1. Set-up and machine the No. 4 bearing seal spacer mating diameter to the dimension given in the figure.

        1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

        2. Keep the machining to the maximum diameter.

      1. Set-up and machine the No. 4 bearing mating diameter to the dimension given in the figure.

        1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

        2. Keep the machining to the maximum diameter.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-13-230-070 Examine the Machined No. 4 Bearing, Front Seal and Seal Spacer Mating Diameter for Cracks

      1. Examine the machined No. 4 bearing front seal mating diameter for cracks.

      1. Shot peen the machined No. 4 bearing front seal mating diameter and adjacent radii.

      1. Shot peen the machined No. 4 bearing seal spacer mating diameter and adjacent radii.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-13-330-053 Chromium Plate the No. 4 Bearing, Front Seal and Seal Spacer Mating Diameters

      1. Install the IAE 3P16393 Hanger, Plating 1 off on the threads of the shaft.

        1. Refer to Figure.

        2. The electrical connection for the plating is located on the hanger.

      1. NOTE

        Do not put the part in an oven before or after chromium plate.

        Chromium plate the No. 4 bearing front seal mating diameter to the minimum plate diameter given in the figure.

        1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

        2. Do the plating procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-33-02-330-501.

        3. Electrical contact is permitted only in the area given in the figure. In this area no burns, pits or selective attack is permitted.

        4. No plate is permitted in the radii as given in the figure.

        5. Plate outside the area is permitted, but the plate must be removed.

      1. Chromium plate the No. 4 bearing seal spacer mating diameter to the minimum plate diameter given in the figure.

        1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

        2. Do the plating procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-33-02-330-501.

        3. Electrical contact is permitted only in the area given in the figure. In this area no burns, pits or selective attack is permitted.

        4. No plate is permitted in the radii as given in the figure.

        3. The taper must not be more than 0.0002 in. (0.0051 mm) total.

        4. The out-of-round diameter must not be more than 0.0009 in. (0.023 mm) total.

      1. Set-up and machine the No. 4 bearing seal spacer mating diameter to the dimensions given in the figure.

        1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

        2. The finish diameter must be in the limits given in the figure.
