Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-074 Remove Worn, Loose or Damaged Bushes, Assembly A and Assembly B

      CAUTION

      DO NOT DAMAGE THE BUSH LOCATION HOLE IN THE CONNECTOR/BRIDGE PIECE.
    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove the head of the bush.

      2. Use a portable drilling machine with a 0.31 in. (7.8 mm) diameter drill, to drill head of bush until the head is released.

      1. Remove the bush.

      2. Use a round aluminium bar to drift out remains of bush. Prevent damage to hole.

        NOTE

        Pushing the bushing from the hole using a round bar, and on its own is sufficient to remove the bushings when needed.
      1. Remove sharp edges around hole.

      2. Use standard workshop equipment.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-110-124 Clean Location Holes, Assembly A and Assembly B

    2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      1. Clean bush location holes in connector.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.

        Locally degrease to clean holes and dry using soft clean cloth and air blast.

        Remove all unwanted material.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-220-659 Examine the Bush Location Holes, Assembly A and Assembly B

    2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      1. Visually examine and measure 2 sets of 6 off bush location holes.

      2. If the bush location hole diameter is more than specified or if holes are damaged, reject it.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-110-076 Do a Swab Etch

    2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      1. Chemically clean.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-08-300-503, SUBTASK 70-11-08-300-001.

        Use chemical cleaning equipment.

      1. Swab etch the repaired areas.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-08-300-503, SUBTASK 70-11-08-300-002.

        Use chemical cleaning equipment.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-230-164 Do a Crack Test

    2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      1. Do a local penetrant crack test on the repaired areas.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

        Cracks are not permitted.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-075-A00 Install the Bushes, Assembly A

    2. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

      1. Install new bushes.

      2. Use UP10815 bush at 2 sets of 6 off locations.

        Push the bush into the hole until the bush retaining feature is engaged.

        Use standard workshop equipment.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-075-B00 Install the Bushes, Assembly B

    2. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

      1. Install new bushes.

      2. Use UP12206 bush 6 off.

        Press fit the bush into the hole, in the direction illustrated, until the bush head is seated.

        Use standard workshop equipment.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-220-260 Examine the Bush Location, Assembly A and Assembly B

    2. Refer to Figure, Figure, Figure and Figure.

      1. Examine the installation of the bushes.

      2. Make sure that all the bushes are correctly fitted and correctly located.

        Use standard workshop equipment.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-178 Identify the Repair

      1. Mark VRS6202 adjacent to the part number.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501, SUBTASK 70-09-00-400-001.

        Use vibro-engraving equipment.
