Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-320-061 Machine the Front Inside Stator Diameter Before Coating

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Machine diameter F and 1.388 to 1.392 in. (35.256 to 35.356 mm) dimension to the dimension given in the figure. Keep the chamfer and modified radius.

      2. Remove only the minimum quantity of material to get the dimension given in the figure. The thickness of the parent material must be a minimum of 0.080 in. (2.032 mm) before coating.

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-350-070 Mask All the Areas that are not to be Plasma Spray Coated

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Mask all the areas that are not to be plasma spray coated.

      2. Do the procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501. No coating is permitted on the face of the flange.

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-380-055 Grit Blast the Front Inside Stator Diameter

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Grit blast the front inside stator diameter.

      2. Do the procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-340-055 Apply Plasma Spray Coating to the Front Inside Stator Diameter

    2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      1. Apply sufficient plasma spray coating to the front inside stator diameter to get the necessary dimensions.

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-350-071 Remove the Mask

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Remove the mask.

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-320-062 Machine the Front Inside Stator Diameter

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Machine the plasma spray coating to the dimensions given in the figure.

      2. Keep the 0.088 to 0.098 in. (2.24 to 2.49 mm) clearance to this dimension and only machine this dimension if necessary. This machine surface can be not complete. Do not machine the struts.

        Keep the 0.080 to 0.110 in. (2.03 to 2.79 mm) clearance to this dimension and only machine this dimension if necessary. This machine surface can be not complete.

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-220-074 Examine the Front Inside Stator Diameter

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Examine the front inside stator diameter to the dimensions given in the figure.

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-11-350-072 Mark the Part

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Mark the repair number VRS3046 on the diffuser case adjacent to the part number.

      2. Mark the part by the procedures given in the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.

        Use the vibration peen method.

        NOTE

        If the VRS repair number is marked on the part, do not mark the repair number again.
