General
This Repair must only be done when the instruction to do so is given in 72-42-40 Inspection/Check.
This Repair gives the instruction to remove damaged material from leading and trailing edges and airfoil surfaces.
Assembly A - A maximum number of 7 vanes AB and 7 vanes AC can have material removed to the maximum limit, refer to Figure.
Assembly B - A maximum number of 70 vanes can have material removed to the maximum limit, refer to Figure and Figure
HP Compressor outlet guide vane assemblies, must be repaired as soon as damage or wear is monitored, to get back engine efficiency and extend the outlet guide vane life.
The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK/SUBTASK numbers are in the SPM.

Use CoMat 05-106 ABRASIVE STONE, with portable grinding equipment.
Continue to remove material until all the damage is removed.
Remove damage on the leading and/or trailing edge(s) by material removal, over the full edge.
Refer to Figure.
Use CoMat 05-106 ABRASIVE STONE and/or CoMat 05-111 EMERY POLISHING PAPER, with portable grinding equipment.
Continue to remove material until all the damage is removed.
The maximum depth to remove the damage must not be more than 0.005in. (0.13 mm).
The diameter of the repaired area(s) is to be 50 times the depth, when completed.
Remove damage on the airfoil surfaces by material removal.
SUBTASK 72-42-40-350-052-A00 Remove Damage from the HP Compressor Outlet Guide Vane Assembly, Assembly A
Use CoMat 05-106 ABRASIVE STONE with portable grinding equipment.
Continue to remove material until all the damage is removed.
Remove damage on the leading and/or trailing edge(s) by material removal, over the full edge.
Refer to Figure.
Use CoMat 05-106 ABRASIVE STONE and/or CoMat 05-111 EMERY POLISHING PAPER, with portable grinding equipment.
Continue to remove material until all the damage is removed.
The maximum depth to remove the damage must not be more thjan 0.005in (0.13mm).
The diameter of the repaired area(s) is to be 50 times the depth when completed.
Remove damage on the airfoil surface by material removal.
