Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-30-350-078 Remove the Remaining Plasma Coat from the Front Outside Diameter Seal on the Combustion Chamber Inner Liner

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove the old coating.

        1. Grind to remove the old coating.

        2. Make sure that the diameter of the seal is 16.613 in. to 16.619 in. (421.97 mm to 422.12 mm) after grinding.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-30-110-074 Clean the Combustion Chamber Inner Liner

    2. Clean the Part by Aqueous Cleaning Method by SPM TASK 70-11-03-300-503.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-30-230-075 Fluorescent Penetrant Inspect the Repair Area

      1. Do a fluorescent penetrant inspection of the repair area by one of the methods that follow. Refer to Figure.

      2. Do a fluorescent penetrant inspection of the repair area by the SPM TASK 70-23-03-230-501.

      3. Do a fluorescent penetrant inspection of the repair area by the SPM TASK 70-23-08-230-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-30-220-107 Examine the Front Outside Diameter Seal on the Combustion Chamber Inner Liner

    2. Do a dimensional inspection of the repair area. Refer to Figure.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-30-380-003 Prepare the Surface of the Front Outside Diameter Seal

      1. Prepare the surface for coating.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-18-380-501 and Figure.

      3. Grit blast out of the repair area shown is not permitted. Use masks or maskants.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-30-340-055 Apply Plasma Coating to the Front Outside Diameter Seal of the Combustion Chamber Inner Liner

      1. Apply plasma coating to the front outside diameter seal. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501 and Figure.

        1. Coat out of the repair area is not permitted. Use masks or maskants.

        2. No grinding of coat permitted.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-30-220-084 Examine the Plasma Coating on the Front Outside Diameter Seal on the Combustion Chamber Inner Liner

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Examine the coating after repair.
