General

You must do the rework on the stage 1 HPT blades given in TASK 72-45-14-840-001, SBE 72-0046 - REWORK 001 at the same time you do the rework given in this procedure.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK number are in the SPM.

Refer to the indicated Service Bulletin for specific application requirements.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-50-210-051 Air Flow Check the Cooling Duct Assembly

      1. Do an air flow check on the cooling duct passages, all together, in the direction shown in the figure.

        1. Refer to Figure requirements.

        2. Do the air flow check by the procedure given in TASK 72-44-50-200-001-A00.

        3. Make sure that the flow is in the limits given.

        4. To get the specified flow rate, add or make larger the one to 15 openings, as necessary, to increase the flow.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-50-320-051 Machine the Cooling Duct Assembly Blocked Passages

      1. Set-up and machine the cooling duct to open the blocked passages.

        1. Refer to Figure requirements.

        2. Open the passageways in the sequence shown.

        3. Remove the material through the weld as shown.

        4. Surface texture must be by the procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-35-09-350-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-50-210-052 Air Flow Check the Cooling Duct Assembly

      1. Do an air flow check on the cooling duct passages, all together, in the direction shown in the figure.

        1. Refer to Figure requirements.

        2. Do the air flow check by the procedure given in TASK 72-44-50-200-001-A00.

        3. Make sure that the flow is in the limits given.

        4. Correct as necessary.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-50-350-051 Identify the Reworked Cooling Duct Assembly with the New Part Number

      1. Mark the new part number adjacent to the part number that was there before. Use the vibration peen method.

      2. Number before - 2A0008-01.

        New number - 2A1997-01.

      3. Refer to procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-50-350-052 Identify the 2A0600 Turbine Nozzle Group

      1. Mark the new turbine nozzle group number adjacent to the number that was there before. Use the vibration peen method.

      2. Number before - 2A0600.

        New number - 2A3800.

      3. Refer to procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-50-350-053 Identify the 2A1200 Turbine Nozzle Group

      1. Mark the new turbine nozzle group number adjacent to the number that was there before. Use the vibration peen method.

      2. Number before - 2A1200.

        New number - 2A5000.

      3. Refer to procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-50-350-054 Identify the 2A0400 Rotor and Stator Assembly

      NOTE

      Before you identify the rotor and stator assembly, you must rework the Stage 1 HPT Blades by the procedure given in TASK 72-45-14-840-001, SBE 72-0046 - Rework 001.
      1. Mark the new rotor and stator assembly number adjacent to the number that was there before. Use the vibration peen method.

      2. Number before - 2A0400.

        New number - 2A1700.

      3. Refer to procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-50-350-055 Identify the 2A1300 Rotor and Stator Assembly that Incorporates Service Bulletin V2500-ENG-72-0011

      1. NOTE

        Before you identify the rotor and stator assembly, you must rework the Stage 1 HPT Blades by the procedure given in TASK 72-45-14-840-001, SBE 72-0046 - Rework 001.

        Mark the new rotor and stator assembly number adjacent to the number that was there before. Use the vibration peen method.

      2. Number before - 2A1300.

        New number - 2A5200.

      3. Refer to procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-44-50-350-056 Identify the 2A1300 Rotor and Stator Assembly when Service Bulletin V2500-ENG-72-0011 is not Incorporated

      1. NOTE

        Before you identify the rotor and stator assembly, you must rework the Stage 1 HPT Blades by the procedure given in TASK 72-45-14-840-001, SBE 72-0046 - Rework 001.

        Mark the new rotor and stator assembly number adjacent to the number that was there before. Use the vibration peen method.

      2. Number before - 2A1300.

        New number - 2A5100.

      3. Refer to procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
