Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-25-380-052 Touch-Up Coat the Outer Diffuser Assembly Segment after the Blend Repair

      NOTE

      This repair is only permitted in conjunction with Repair VRS4146, TASK 72-50-25-300-009 (REPAIR-009)**.
      If the coating is badly damaged, refer to Repair, VRS4150, TASK 72-50-25-300-013 (REPAIR-013) or Repair, VRS4151, TASK 72-50-25-300-014 (REPAIR-014).
      Touch-up is only permitted in area A1, refer to Figure.

      1. Prepare the material and the surface.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-14-380-501.

        Use a vapor blast cabinet.

      2. Touch-up coat the outer diffuser assembly segment.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-14-380-501.

    2. SUBTASK 72-50-25-380-053 Do the Diffusion Heat Treatment of the Coated Outer Diffuser Assembly Segment

      1. Diffuse the coating of the outer diffuser assembly segment.

      1. Refer to TASK 70-38-14-300-501.

        Use a gas furnace or a vacuum furnace.

    3. SUBTASK 72-50-25-220-070 Do the Post Repair Inspection

      1. Visually examine the coated areas for defects.

      1. Use an illuminated comparator magnifier.

        No defects in the surface are permitted.

    4. SUBTASK 72-50-25-380-054 Make a Mark to Identify the Repair

      1. Vibro-peen the touch-up symbol (T) adjacent to the part number.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.

        Use a vibrating marking pencil.
