This TASK gives the procedure to clean the No. 5 bearing seal spacers. For the other parts of the No. 5 bearing assembly and seal, refer to TASK 72-50-42-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-42-110-057-001 Remove the Unwanted Particles

      1. Remove unwanted particles. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-13-300-503.

      1. Cleaning of components (long soak for cobalt and nickel base alloys and heat and corrosion resistant steels).

    2. SUBTASK 72-50-42-110-057-002 Remove the Unwanted Particles

      1. Remove unwanted particles. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-13-300-503.

      1. Alkaline cleaning.

    3. SUBTASK 72-50-42-110-057-003 Remove the Grease and Unwanted Particles

      1. Remove the grease and unwanted particles. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.

      1. Solvent cleaning (titanium and all other metals).
