The rework given in Rework-001 TASK 73-22-35-840-001 must be incorporated before you do this TASK.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 73-22-35-350-058-001 Rework the Data Entry Plug Assembly for Engine Serial Numbers V0033 and V0037

      1. Disconnect the data entry plug assembly as follows:

      2. Rework the lockwire from the data entry plug backshell and the connector

        1. Loosen the backshell nut, but do not remove the backshell

        2. Use the TG-70 Strap Wrench or equivalent

        1. Disconnect the data entry plug assembly from the electronic engine control (EEC)

        2. Refer to Figure.

        3. NOTE

          Do not remove the data entry plug connecting chain from the Flange FC to do the modification specified.
      1. Do a modification on the 5A0431 data entry plug as follows:

      2. Refer to Figure requirements.

      3. Remove the connector assembly from the backshell

      4. Remove the anti-vibration rubber

      5. Give the old connector assembly to your IAE representative

      6. Get the new connector assembly from your IAE representative

      7. CAUTION

        MAKE SURE THE NEW CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY IS CORRECT FOR THE ENGINE YOU INSTALL IT ON. THE NEW CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY IS NOT IDENTIFIED WITH THE ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER.

        Align and install the anti-vibration rubber on the jumper ends of the new connector assembly

      8. Install the connector assembly and antivibration rubber into the backshell and tighten the backshell nut with your fingers

      1. Identify the 5A0431 data entry plug backshell with the new EPR modification class number as follows:

        1. Mark the new EPR class number 06 adjacent to the EPR class number that was there before

        2. Do the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501 and use the vibration peen method

      1. Connect the data entry plug assembly to the electronic engine control (EEC)

      2. Refer to Figure.

        1. Tighten and torque the data entry plug to 32 lbfin (3.6 Nm)

        2. Refer to the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.

      1. Tighten and torque the backshell nut to between 53 and 58 lbfin (5.99 and 6.55 Nm)

      2. Use the TG-70 Strap Wrench or equivalent

      3. Refer to the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.

      1. Safety the backshell nut to the connector

    1. SUBTASK 73-22-35-350-058-002 Rework the Data Entry Plug Assembly for Engine Serial Numbers V0017, V0023, V0041, V0045, V0047, V0059 and V0083

      1. Disconnect the data entry plug assembly as follows:

      2. Rework the lockwire from the data entry plug backshell and the connector

        1. Loosen the backshell nut, but do not remove the backshell

        2. Use the TG-70 Strap Wrench or equivalent

        1. Disconnect the data entry plug assembly from the electronic engine control (EEC)

        2. Refer to Figure.

        3. Use the IAE 1J12018 EEC harness wrench (EEC harness wrench) 1 off.

          NOTE

          Do not remove the data entry plug connecting chain from the Flange FC to do the modification specified.
      1. Do a modification on the 5A0431 data entry plug as follows:

      2. Refer to Figure requirements.

      3. Remove the connector assembly from the backshell

      4. Remove the anti-vibration rubber

      5. Give the old connector assembly to your IAE representative

      6. Get the new connector assembly from your IAE representative

      2. Refer to Figure.

        1. Tighten and torque the data entry plug to 32 lbfin (3.6 Nm)

        2. Use the IAE 1J12018 EEC harness wrench EEC harness wrench 1 off.

        3. Refer to the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.

      1. Tighten and torque the backshell nut to between 53 and 58 lbfin (5.99 and 6.55 Nm)

      2. Use the TG-70 Strap Wrench or equivalent

      3. Refer to the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.

      1. Safety the backshell nut to the connector

      1. Disconnect the data entry plug assembly as follows:

        1. Disconnect the data entry plug assembly from the electronic engine control (EEC)

        2. Refer to Figure.

        2. Refer to Figure.

        3. Use the IAE 1J12018 EEC harness wrench (EEC harness wrench) 1 off.

      1. Identify the 5A0431 data entry plug backshell with the new EPR class number as follows:

        1. Mark the new EPR class number 06 adjacent to the EPR class number that was there before

        2. Do the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501 and use the vibration peen method

      1. Connect the data entry plug assembly to the electronic engine control (EEC)

      2. Refer to Figure.

        1. Tighten and torque the data entry plug to 32 lbfin (3.6 Nm)

        2. Use the IAE 1J12018 EEC harness wrench EEC harness wrench 1 off.

        3. Refer to the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.

      1. Tighten and torque the backshell nut to between 53 and 58 lbfin (5.99 and 6.55 Nm)

      2. Use the TG-70 Strap Wrench or equivalent

      3. Refer to the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.

      1. Safety the backshell nut to the connector

    1. SUBTASK 73-22-35-350-058-005 Replace the Engine Identification Plate for Engine Serial Numbers V0019, V0025 and V0029

      1. Replace the 5A9036 engine identification plate as follows:

      2. Refer to Figure.

        1. Remove the four bolts that hold the engine identification plate to the bracket located on the fan case at the 9 o'clock position

        2. Give the old engine identification plate to your IAE representative

      3. Get the new 5A9036 engine identification plate from your IAE representative

      4. CAUTION

        MAKE SURE THE DATA ON THE NEW ENGINE IDENTIFICATION PLATE IS CORRECT FOR THE ENGINE YOU INSTALL IT ON.

        Install the new engine identification plate to the bracket with the 4W0102 bolts (4 off)

      5. Torque the bolts to between 32 and 36 lbfin (3,61 and 4,07 Nm)

    1. SUBTASK 73-22-35-350-058-006 Rework the Data Entry Plug Assembly for Engine Serial Numbers V0039, V0081 and V0085

      1. Disconnect the data entry plug assembly from the electronic engine control (EEC)

      2. Refer to Figure.

      3. Use the IAE 1J12018 EEC harness wrench (EEC harness wrench) 1 off.

      1. Identify the 5A0431 data entry plug backshell with the new EPR modification class number as follows:

        1. Mark the new EPR class number 07 adjacent to the EPR class number that was there before

        2. Do the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501 and use the vibration peen method

      1. Connect the data entry plug assembly to the electronic engine control (EEC)

      2. Refer to Figure.

        1. Tighten and torque the data entry plug to 32 lbfin (3.6 Nm)

        2. Use the IAE 1J12018 EEC harness wrench EEC harness wrench 1 off.

        3. Refer to the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.

    1. SUBTASK 73-22-35-350-058-007 Rework the Data Entry Plug Assembly for Engine Serial Number V0055

      1. Disconnect the data entry plug assembly from the electronic engine control (EEC)

      2. Refer to Figure.

      3. Use the IAE 1J12018 EEC harness wrench (EEC harness wrench) 1 off.

      1. Identify the 5A0431 data entry plug backshell with the new EPR modification class number as follows:

        1. Mark the new EPR class number 08 adjacent to the EPR class number that was there before

        2. Do the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501 and use the vibration peen method

      1. Connect the data entry plug assembly to the electronic engine control (EEC)

      2. Refer to Figure.

        1. Tighten and torque the data entry plug to 32 lbfin (3.6 Nm)

        2. Use the IAE 1J12018 EEC harness wrench EEC harness wrench 1 off.

        3. Refer to the procedure given in SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.
