Safety Requirements

Use a Grinder, Hand held pneumatic.
Remove the bracket.
SUBTASK 75-24-48-350-065 Remove the Bracket
Refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 75-24-48-100-100.
Remove all the oxides, hydrocarbon, grit and scale from the surface to be welded and adjacent area by local cleaning.
SUBTASK 75-24-48-350-066 Remove all the Soil from the Surface
Use a 8X Magnifying glass.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-21-01-220-501.
Visually examine the turbine CLG manifold assembly.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
Penetrant examine the turbine CLG manifold assembly.
Refer to VRS1536 (Repair-006) TASK 75-24-48-300-006.
Replace the joint, if required.
Refer to VRS1532 (Repair-001) TASK 75-24-48-300-001.
Weld the damaged surface, if required.
SUBTASK 75-24-48-220-059 Examine the Turbine CLG Manifold Assembly
Refer to Figure.
Use the IAE 3J13515 Fixture, joint replacement 1 off.
Set the bracket and turbine CLG manifold assembly to the fixture.
Finish the surface of turbine CLG manifold assembly to fit the bracket.
Tack weld the bracket.
Refer to Figure.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-31-02-300-501.
Use a TIG welding equipment.
Weld the bracket to the manifold and two junction corners of the bracket by tungsten inert gas (TIG) weld.
NOTE
If it is necessary, remove the turbine cooling manifold assembly from the fixture before you weld the two junction corners of the bracket.Remove the turbine CLG manifold assembly from the fixture.
SUBTASK 75-24-48-350-067 Weld the Bracket
Refer to VRS1536 (Repair-006) TASK 75-24-48-300-006.
Replace the joint, if required.
Refer to Inspection-000 TASK 75-24-48-200-100.
Examine the joint.
All the measured outer diameters should not be more than 3.079 in. (78.206 mm).
Measure the outer diameter of joint at 8 points, to check the thermal deformation.
Use a plastic mallet.
Hammer the joint to keep the roundness.
If any point of measured outer diameters is more than 3.079 in. (78.206 mm).
Dimensionally check joint of turbine CLG manifold assembly.

Chemically clean the repaired area.

Stress relieve at 1175 to 1225 deg F (635 to 663 deg C) for one hour.
Heat treat the turbine CLG manifold assembly.
