NONEProcedure
Refer to Figure.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-31-13-310-501.
Dirty surfaces cause a decrease in weld strength.
Clean the areas around the cracks on two sides, if possible.
SUBTASK 75-24-49-110-061 Clean the Tube Connector
Refer to Figure and SPM TASK 70-31-13-310-501.
For purity of welds, weld in a protective gas environment.
Use CoMat 03-246 WELDING MATERIAL to repair cracks on tubes and CoMat 03-247 WELDING MATERIAL on housing.
To repair cracks in joints between housing and tubes, use CoMat 03-246 WELDING MATERIAL.
Weld up cracks, use tungsten inert gas method.
SUBTASK 75-24-49-350-083 Weld Up Repair Tube Connector
NOTE
Do the welding of titanium in a protective gas atmosphere to avoid impurities in weld seams, leading to premature cracking and reduction in fatigue strength.Refer to SPM TASK 70-31-13-310-501 for acceptance standards.
Examine the weld quality.
SUBTASK 75-24-49-220-090 Examine the Welds
Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
