Clean the areas around the cracks on both sides of the support assemblies if possible.
SUBTASK 75-24-49-110-058 Clean the Support Assemblies
Before weld repair, remove the screw thread inserts if necessary. Refer to VRS4257, (Repair-013) TASK 75-24-49-300-013.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-31-13-310-501.
Use CoMat 03-184 WELDING FILLER WIRE, NICKEL if necessary.
Tungsten inert gas weld cracks on the two sides of the support assemblies if necessary.
SUBTASK 75-24-49-350-070 Weld Repair the Support Assemblies
Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
No cracks are permitted.
Do the test for cracks.
SUBTASK 75-24-49-230-062 Examine the Welded Areas for Cracks
Use Hand Held Pneumatic Grinder and Rotary files if necessary.
No raised material is permitted on the ground surface.
If necessary dress the welds until they make a continuous surface with the adjacent areas.

CAUTION
DO NOT OVERHEAT THE AREAS WHICH ARE DRESSED.Refer to Figure.
Use Gas furnace for eight hours at 1472 deg F (800 deg C).
Decrease the temperature in air.
Heat treat the support assemblies.
Refer to VRS4257, (Repair-013) TASK 75-24-49-300-013.
After repair and heat treatment install the new screw thread inserts.

Do the test for cracks.
