Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

All parts must be visually examined for damage, corrosion and wear. Defects that are not identified in the procedure must be referred to IAE.

Do not discard the part until you are sure there are not repairs available. Refer to the instructions in Repair before a discarded part is used again or oversize parts are installed.

Parts which should be discarded can be held although no repair is available. The repair of a discarded part could be shown to be necessary at a later date.

All parts must be examined to make sure that all repairs have been completed satisfactorily.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK/SUBTASK numbers are in the SPM.

    1. SUBTASK 75-27-49-230-051 Examine the Air Inlet Fittings for Cracks

    2. Clean the parts. Refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 75-27-49-100-400.

      1. Do the crack test on the parts given below.

        1. Air inlet fittings. Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-01-230-501.

          1. Cracked

          2. Reject

    1. SUBTASK 75-27-49-220-059 Examine the Air Inlet Fittings Surfaces

      1. Examine all the surfaces.

        1. Nicked

          1. Nicked to a depth of 0.002 in. (0.05 mm).

          2. Accept

          1. More than in Step.

          2. Reject

        1. Dented

          1. Any dents

          2. Reject

        1. Scratched

          1. Scratched to a depth of 0.002 in. (0.05 mm).

          1. If the hole is between 0.221 in. (5.60 mm) and 0.279 in. (7.08 mm) with the distance between the edge of the worn hole and the bracket more than 0.077 in. (1.95 mm).
