General

Refer to Inspection-000 TASK 75-32-51-200-400 for the other HP compressor stage 7 solenoid valve parts.

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

All the parts must be cleaned before they are examined. Refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 75-32-51-100-400.

All the parts must be visually examined for damage, corrosion and wear. Defects that are not identified in the procedure must be referred to IAE.

Do not discard the part until you are sure there are not repairs available. Refer to the instructions in repair before a discarded part is used again or oversize parts are installed.

Parts which must be discarded can be held although no repair is available. The repair of a discarded part could be shown to be necessary at a later date.

All parts must be examined to make sure that all the repairs are completed satisfactorily.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK/SUBTASK number are in the SPM.

    1. SUBTASK 75-32-51-230-002 Examine the Bracket for Cracks

      1. Do the crack test on the part that is given below. Use the applicable fluorescent penetrant inspection procedure.

        1. Brackets. Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-02-230-501.

          1. Cracked

          2. Reject

    1. SUBTASK 75-32-51-220-059 Examine the Surface of the Bracket

      1. Examine all the surface

        1. Nicked

          1. Nicked to a depth of 0.002 in. (0.05 mm).

          2. Accept

          1. More than in Step.

          2. Reject

        1. Dented

          1. Dented to a depth of 0.150 in. (3.8 mm) with a large surface area.

          2. Accept

          1. More than in Step.

          2. Reject

        1. Scratched

          1. Scratched to a depth of 0.002 in. (0.05 mm)

    1. SUBTASK 75-32-51-220-060 Examine the Bracket Bolt Hole

      1. Examine the clip position bolt hole

        1. Worn

          1. If the hole diameter is between 0.221 in. (5.60 mm) and 0.279 in. (7.08 mm) with the distance between the edge of the worn hole and the bracket more than 0.203 in. (5.16 mm).

          2. Accept

          1. Other than in Step.

          2. Reject

      1. Examine the mounting flange bolt hole (stepped part of bracket)

        1. Worn

          1. If the hole diameter is between 0.221 in. (5.60 mm) and 0.279 in. (7.08 mm) with the distance between the edge of the worn hole and the bracket more than 0.058 in. (1.46 mm).

          2. Accept

          1. Other than in Step.

          2. Reject
