TASK 71-00-00-700-059-A00 Procedure For An Emergency Shutdown, Testing-000
Procedure For Emergency Shutdown for Engines with Less than Two Hours of Operation Time Since Overhaul of HP Rotor Blade Tip Seals
Procedure
Quickly and immediately move the thrust lever to IDLE.
Select the FUEL OFF mode.
Engage the starter below 1490 RPM (10%) to continue engine rotation.
Motor the engine at more than 2500 N2 RPM until the EGT decreases below 482 deg F (250 deg C) or for two minutes, whichever is reached first.
Before you start the engine again, refer to procedure for a Bowed Rotor Start Prevention after an Emergency Shutdown. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-065-A00 (TESTING-000, CONFIG-001).
Start the engine again in less than 15 minutes by the instructions given in Normal Engine Automatic Start Procedure (Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-053-A01) (TESTING-000, CONFIG-001) or Normal Engine Manual Start Procedure (Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-053-A02) (TESTING-000, CONFIG-001).
Keep the power at APPROACH IDLE for 15 minutes before you move the thrust lever forward. Normal operation can continue after 15 minutes at APPROACH IDLE.
