TASK 71-00-02-000-021-B00 (A5-PPBU) - Remove The Drains Mast And The LP Compressor/Intermediate Case Module Drains, Removal-021

General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the Fig/item number.

Apply the approved CoMat 10-058 PENETRATING OIL before the removal of threaded parts. Let the parts soak before removal.

Seal all openings when tubes are disconnected, to prevent contamination from unwanted material.

Discard all rubber seal rings and cotter pins removed in this procedure.

Remove and discard the lockwire before the tube or connector is disconnected.

When electrical connectors are disconnected special plastic caps must be installed.

All tubes, hoses and ducts removed in this procedure must have their maintenance completed, as given in the Component Maintenance Manual (CMM-THD-V2500-1IA).

Procedure

1. Refer to Figure.
2. Disconnect the nine drain tubes at the connections on the collector plate assembly POWER PLANT-DRAIN TUBE MAST (71-71-42, 01-050).
3. Remove the four bolts POWER PLANT-DRAIN TUBE MAST (71-71-42, 01-020) from the drains mast POWER PLANT-DRAIN TUBE MAST (71-71-42, 01-010).
4. Remove the drains mast POWER PLANT-DRAIN TUBE MAST (71-71-42, 01-010) and the collector plate assembly POWER PLANT-DRAIN TUBE MAST (71-71-42, 01-050).
1. Refer to Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure, Figure and Figure.
2. Remove the bolts, washers, spacers, clipnuts, nuts and clips from the clip positions that follow:
  SBE 71-0004 and Pre SBE 79-0088: 0948, 0932, 0973, 0915, 0317, 0919, 0920, 0925, 0924, 0252, 0927, 0946, 0937, 0952, 0949, 0953, 0954, 0951, 0950, 0968, 0943, 0959, 0942, 0941, 0940, 0939, 0938, 1140, 0322 and 1132.
  SBE 79-0088 and Pre SBN 71-0312: 0948, 0932, 0973, 0915, 0317, 0919, 0920, 0925, 0924, 1465, 1464, 0946, 0952, 0949, 0953, 0954, 0951, 0950, 1454, 1455, 0943, 0959, 0942, 0941, 0940, 0939, 1140, 0322 and 1132.
  SBE 71-0312: 0948, 0932, 0973, 0915, 0317, 0919, 0920, 0925, 0924, 1465, 1464, 0946, 0952, 0949, 0953, 0954, 0951, 0950, 1454, 1455, 1491, 0959, 0942, 0941, 0940, 0939, 1140, 0322 and 1132.
3. Disconnect the tube 216 from the tubes 217 and 45 and remove the two nuts and bolts that attach the tube 216 to the bifurcation panel. Remove the tube 216. Disconnect the tube 217 from the collector plate assembly and remove the tube 217.
4. Disconnect the tube 218 from the ACOC air modulating valve and the tube 219 and remove the tube 218. Disconnect the tube 219 from the collector plate assembly and remove the tube 219.
5. Disconnect the tube 221 from the gearbox (adjacent to the air starter) and the collector plate assembly and remove the tube 221. Remove the union and the packing from the gearbox.
6. Disconnect the tube 222 from the gearbox (adjacent to the hydraulic pump) and the collector plate assembly and remove the tube 222. Remove the union and the packing from the gearbox.
7. Disconnect the tube 223 from the oil tank (adjacent to the filler cap) and the collector plate assembly and remove the tube 223. Remove the union and the packing from the oil tank.
8. Disconnect the tube 224 from the gearbox (adjacent to the fuel pump) and the collector plate assembly and remove the tube 224. Remove the union and the packing from the gearbox.
9. Disconnect the tube 225 from the FMU and the collector plate assembly and remove the tube 225.
10. Disconnect the tube 226 from the collector plate assembly and the tube 227 and remove the tube 226. Disconnect the tube 227 from the tube 228 and remove the tube 227. Disconnect the tube 228 from the fuel diverter and remove the tube 228.
11. Disconnect the tube 229 from the gearbox (adjacent to the IDG) and the collector plate assembly and remove the tube 229. Remove the banjo coupling and the sealing ring.
12. Remove the four bolts that attach the drains mast and the collector plate assembly to the brackets on the angle gearbox. Remove the drains mast and the collector plate assembly.
