General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the Fig/item number.

For standard torque data and procedures refer to the SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501, SPM TASK 70-41-01-400-501 and SPM TASK 70-41-02-410-501.

Lubricate all threads and abutment faces of nuts and bolts with CoMat 10-077 APPROVED ENGINE OILSunless other lubricants are referred to in the procedure.

Refer to the V2500 Illustrated Tool and Equipment Manual (ITEM) Pub ref ITE-V2500-1IA, for the illustrations of the special tools given in this procedure.

Make sure that all flange faces and tool faces that touch are very clean.

NOTE

To identify the consumable materials refer to the PCI.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-80-540-055 Remove the Cover Assembly of the Shipping Container

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Check the humidity indicator.

    3. Use the relief valve to make the container internal pressure the same as the external pressure.

    4. Attach a suitable four legged sling to a hoist.

    5. Move the hoist over the IAE 5J13194 Shipping container 1 off and attach the four legged sling to the four cover assembly lift rings.

    6. Release all the butterfly catches.

    7. Lift the cover assembly of the shipping container away from the shipping container base and put it on a suitable surface.

    8. Remove the sling from the hoist.

    9. Empty the desiccant receptacle.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-80-540-056 Examine the LPC Assembly

    1. Check the relevant documentation with the LPC assembly details.

    2. Visually inspect the LPC assembly for corrosion and damage.

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-80-540-057 Remove the LPC Assembly from the Carriage Base

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Make sure that the LPC assembly together with IAE 1J12541 Holding support 1 off. If is not, refer to TASK 72-32-80-440-001-B00 (ASSEMBLY, CONFIG-002).

      3. Prepare the carriage base.

      1. Release the handling bolt on the carriage base. Move the locator top into the open position.

      2. Make sure that all the faces are clean on the flange and tool faces that touch.

      4. Attach IAE 1J12213 LPC Vertical sling 1 off on to the disk front flange of the LPC assembly.

      1. Install the three brackets (part of the LPC vertical sling) to the disk front flange. The three brackets must be equally apart.

      2. Attach the hoist to the LPC vertical sling.

    5. Lift the LPC assembly clear of the carriage base.

    6. Put IAE 1J12533 Storage stand 1 off under the LPC assembly.

    7. Put the LPC assembly on the IAE 1J12533 Storage stand.

    8. Remove the LPC vertical sling from the LPC assembly and put it on an applicable work surface.

    9. Remove the sling from the hoist.

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-80-540-058 Install the Shipping Container Cover

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Attach the hoist to the four legged sling that is attached to the cover assembly of the shipping container.

    3. Lift the cover assembly of the shipping container put it over the carriage base.

    4. Lower the cover assembly of the shipping container on to the carriage base.

    5. Attach the cover assembly of the shipping container to the carriage base with all the butterfly catches.

    6. Remove the four legged sling from the lift rings of the cover assembly.

    7. Remove the four legged sling from the hoist and put it on an applicable work surface.
