Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-064 Remove the Spot Ties

    1. CAUTION

      DO NOT CUT THE CABLES.

      Cut off the spot ties.

    2. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-065 Loosen the Backshell

      1. Loosen the backshell of the connector which is connected to the damaged cable

      1. Refer to Repair, VRS1074 (Repair-003) TASK 71-52-43-300-003.

    3. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-066 Remove the Damaged Cable

    1. Remove the contacts (pin and socket) from the damaged cable.

      2. Pull out the cable from the connectors

      1. Refer to Repair, VRS1074 (Repair-003) TASK 71-52-43-300-003.

    4. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-067 Install Contacts on the New Cable

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Cut the cable to the same length as the damaged cable.

      3. Remove the insulation

      1. Use a cable stripper.

      4. Install the contacts

      1. Refer to Repair, VRS1074 (Repair-003) TASK 71-52-43-300-003.

    5. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-068 Install the Contacts into the Connectors

      1. Install the contacts into the connectors

      1. Refer to Repair, VRS1074 (Repair-003) TASK 71-52-43-300-003.

      2. If necessary remove all the contacts from the connector with the cables and reinstall all the contacts into the connectors from the center to the outside.

    6. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-069 Install the Backshell

      1. Install the backshell

      1. Refer to Repair, VRS1074 (Repair-003) TASK 71-52-43-300-003.

    7. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-070 Install the Spot Ties

      1. Install the spot ties

      1. Refer to Repair, VRS1074 (Repair-003) TASK 71-52-43-300-003.

    8. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-071 Install the terminal

      1. Install terminal

      1. Refer to Repair, VRS1076 (Repair-004) TASK 71-52-43-300-004.

    9. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-072 Cover the Pigtail (for Earth) by Metal Braiding

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Cover the pigtail by metal braiding.

      3. Install the hold band

      1. Fold back the metal braiding and install the hold band on it.

    10. SUBTASK 71-52-43-350-073 Install the Sleeve Marker and the Protective Sleeve

    1. Install the sleeve marker and the protective sleeve.

    2. Refer to Repair, VRS1077 (Repair-005) TASK 71-52-43-300-005.
