Use non-metallic scraper.
Remove the remaining adhesive.
SUBTASK 72-31-11-110-066 Remove the Remaining Adhesive from the Bottom of the Blade Root

CAUTION
FOLLOWING THE CRACK TEST PROCEDURE ENSURE THAT FLUORESCENT PENETRANT IS THOROUGHLY REMOVED FROM THE FAN BLADE ROOT COATING.Fluorescent penetrant examine the blade root.
SUBTASK 72-31-11-230-061 Examine the Fan Blade Assembly for Cracks

CAUTION
DO NOT APPLY ABRASIVE BLAST ON POST SB 72-0375 AND POST SB 72-0384 (METCO 58 COATED ROOT) FAN BLADES AS THIS COULD DAMAGE THE INTEGRITY OF THE COATING.NOTE
This SUBTASK is applicable to the chocking pad (Assembly A).Refer to Figure
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Swab degrease the bonding areas.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501.
Do a water break test to make sure that the bonding surfaces are clean.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501.
Remove the break test fluid by swabbing.
SUBTASK 72-31-11-110-067-001 Prepare the LPC Rotor Blade for Bonding
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Locally swab degrease the bonding area.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Swab degrease the bonding area and allow to evaporate.

Hand clean the bonding surfaces of the chocking pads.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501.
Do a water break test to make sure that the bonding surfaces are clean.

SUBTASK 72-31-11-360-058-001 Prepare the Chocking Pad for Bonding
NOTE
This SUBTASK is applicable to the chocking pad (Assembly B).NOTE
If the chocking pad is replaced by a new one, this SUBTASK need not be done.Refer to Figure.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Swab degrease the surface E of the chocking pad.
SUBTASK 72-31-11-360-058-002 Prepare the Chocking Pad for Bonding
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501.
Apply a thin layer of primer to each of the prepared mating surfaces of the blade and the chocking pads. Dry in air for 30 minutes.
Use a corrugated scraper.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501.
Apply the cold curing silicone compound to each of the mating surfaces of the fan blade and the chocking pads.
Use CoMat 02-001 ADHESIVE TAPE (MASKING) to hold the chocking pads in position.
Assemble the front and the rear chocking pads to the fan blade immediately.

Use a Vibrating Marking Pencil.
Write VRS1022 adjacent to the part number.
