NOTE
Do this procedure only if more cleaning is required to complete the inspection requirement.Removal of dry film lubricant. Use CoMat 01-030 SODIUM CARBONATE Na2CO3, CoMat 01-044 SODIUM METASILICATE Na2SiO3.5H2O, CoMat 01-271 PAINT STRIPPER and CoMat 01-272 PAINT STRIPPER.

CAUTION
MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT USE ANY ABRASIVE MEDIUM OTHER THAN GIVEN IN THIS Step TO REMOVE/CLEAN THE DRY FILM LUBRICANT. IF YOU DO, DAMAGES TO THE METCO 58 COATING WILL OCCUR AND YOU MUST REPLACE THE METCO 58 COATING BEFORE YOU REPLACE THE DRY FILM LUBRICANT.
CAUTION
DO NOT USE CoMat 01-086 AMMONIUM HYDROXIDE SOLN NH4OH OR 01-361 AMMONIUM CARBONATE. THEY CAN AFFECT THE METCO 58 COATING ON THE DOVETAIL PRESSURE SURFACE.Remove the dry film lubricant. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-29-300-503.
SUBTASK 72-31-11-110-089 Remove the Dry Film Lubricant
Plastic blast. Use CoMat 05-240 PLASTIC BLAST MEDIA.

CAUTION
DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM PRESSURE OF 40 PSI (257.8 KPA) FOR PRESSURE TYPE MACHINES. EXCEEDING THE MAXIMUM PRESSURE OF 40 PSI (275.8 KPA) FOR PRESSURE TYPE MACHINES CAN DAMAGE THE METCO 58 COATING. THE METCO 58 COATING THAT HAS BEEN PROCESSED WITH A HIGHER PRESSURE MUST BE REPLACED BEFORE THE DRY FILM LUBRICANT IS REPLACED.
CAUTION
ONLY USE CoMat 05-240 PLASTIC BLAST MEDIA, TO REMOVE THE DRY FILM LUBRICANT ON THE METCO 58 COATED FAN BLADES. NO OTHER BLASTING MATERIAL IS ALLOWED TO REMOVE THE DRY FILM LUBRICANT ON THE METCO 58 COATED FAN BLADES.Remove the dry film lubricant. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-07-120-501.
