TASK 72-32-37-300-005 Fan Speed/Trim Balance Probes Electrical Harness - Repair The Chafed Damage, Repair-005 (VRS1566)
General
This repair scheme gives the repair procedure for chafed damage on NF harness.
The repair for the NF harness part number 5A0244 is applicable to only the harness of change letter "F".
This repair is not applicable to the NF harness part number 5A0244 prior to change letter "F".

Remove the terminals.
Refer to VRS1261, TASK 72-32-37-300-002 (REPAIR-002).
SUBTASK 72-32-37-350-061 Remove the Terminals from the NF Electrical Harness, If necessary.
Remove the existing sleeves and or sleeve markers.
Refer to VRS1263, TASK 72-32-37-300-004 (REPAIR-004).
SUBTASK 72-32-37-350-062 Remove the Existing sleeves and/or sleeve markers from the NF Electrical Harness, If necessary.
Refer to Figure.
Use the hand cutter and/or the scissors.
NOTE
This sleeve has the inner and outer sleeves.Put the sleeve onto specified position on chafed area.
Trim the sleeve for repair to specified length.
SUBTASK 72-32-37-350-063 Put the Sleeve for Repair to Chafed Area
Use a hot air gun.

CAUTION
DO NOT APPLY HOT AIR FOR MORE THAN 50 SECONDS.Heat shrink the sleeve for repair, at air temperature 770 deg F to 860 deg F (410 deg C to 460 deg C) after five minutes warm up period. Apply heat until the sleeve becomes transparent, continue heating for a further 10 to 15 seconds to ensure that the inner sleeve has fully heated and a plastic state in got. As soon as you have the above condition, stop hot air.
SUBTASK 72-32-37-350-064 Heat Shrink the Sleeve for Repair
Make sure that there are no signs of splitting and heat damage.
Visually examine the repaired area.
SUBTASK 72-32-37-220-064 Examine the Repaired Area
Install the sleeves and/or sleeve markers to the positions of removed them.
Refer to VRS1263, TASK 72-32-37-300-004 (REPAIR-004).
SUBTASK 72-32-37-350-065 Install the Sleeves and/or Sleeve Markers, If removed.
Install the terminals to the positions of removed them.
Refer to VRS1261, TASK 72-32-37-300-002 (REPAIR-002).
SUBTASK 72-32-37-350-066 Install the Terminals, If removed.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
Use vibro-peen.
Mark VRS1566 adjacent to the part number on the NF tube.

Refer to TASK 72-32-37-700-301 (TESTING-001).
Do the test for continuity and insulation resistance.
