Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-51-350-066 Remove the Damage from the Stub Shaft Assembly

      1. Dress the damaged area of the curvic teeth.

      1. Use a hand grinder and abrasive stones or fine file.

      2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      3. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

      2. Polish the dressed area to obtain a surface finish equal to the adjacent area.

      1. Use a hand grinder and abrasive stones.

      3. The surface finish of the repaired area must be the same as the adjacent area.

      4. Refer to Figure and Figure.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-51-240-056 Examine the Stub Shaft Assembly

      1. Do a magnetic particle examination of the repaired area.

      1. No cracks are permitted.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-24-01-240-501.

      3. Refer to TASK 72-32-51-200-004 (INSPECTION-004, CONFIG-001).

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-51-220-097 Examine the Stub Shaft Assembly

      1. Visually and dimensionally examine the repaired area.

      1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      2. Refer to TASK 72-32-51-200-004 (INSPECTION-004, CONFIG-001).

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-51-220-098 Make a Mark VRS1287 on the Stub Shaft Assembly

      1. Write VRS1287 adjacent to the part number.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
