NOTE

If there are damages more than the repairable limits given in VRS1425 TASK 72-32-86-300-005 (REPAIR-005), on the pad, the pad must be replaced in accordance with VRS1983 TASK 72-32-86-300-009 (REPAIR-009).

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-86-350-056 Remove the Loose Pieces, Assembly A

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. CAUTION

        DO NOT DAMAGE PARENT MATERIAL OF THE FAIRING.

        NOTE

        VRS1983 TASK 72-32-86-300-009 (REPAIR-009) is not applicable to Assembly A.

        Completely remove or cut off the loose pieces or delaminated portions.

      1. Use cutter knife.

      2. Remove or cut off the minimum quantity of the pad material necessary to make the shape of the pad smooth.

      3. If the loose pieces or delaminated portions cannot be removed within the repairable limits, reject the assembly.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-86-350-073 Remove the Loose Pieces, Assembly B

      CAUTION

      DO NOT DAMAGE PARENT MATERIAL OF THE FAIRING.

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Completely remove or cut off the loose pieces or delaminated portions.

      1. Use cutter knife.

      2. Remove or cut off the minimum quantity of the pad material necessary to make the shape of the pad smooth.

      3. If the loose pieces or delaminated portions cannot be removed within the repairable limits, the pad must be replaced in accordance with VRS1983 TASK 72-32-86-300-009 (REPAIR-009).

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-86-350-057 Polish the Surface

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Polish the surfaces which are cut off or chipped.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-86-220-082 Examine the Pad

      1. Visually examine the repaired area.

      1. Delamination is not permitted.

    5. SUBTASK 72-32-86-350-058 Mark repair Number on the Rear Fairing Assembly

      1. Make a mark VRS1425 adjacent to the part number.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
