    1. SUBTASK 72-41-31-350-103 Dress to Remove Damage from HP Compressor Slot Faces, Assembly A, Assembly B, Assembly C and Stage 6 Rotor Path Ring Groove (Assembly A only)

    2. CAUTION

      TITANIUM COMPONENT - YOU MUST USE SILICON CARBIDE TYPE ABRASIVE WHEELS, STONES AND PAPERS TO DRESS, BLEND AND POLISH THIS COMPONENT.

      CAUTION

      TITANIUM COMPONENT - DO NOT USE FORCE WITH MECHANICAL CUTTERS OR THE MATERIAL WILL BECOME TOO HOT.

      CAUTION

      TITANIUM COMPONENT - MAXIMUM SPEED FOR MECHANICAL TOOLS MUST NOT EXCEED 1000 REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE.

      CAUTION

      TITANIUM COMPONENT - YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU REMOVE MATERIAL, BLEND AND POLISH, TO MAKE SMOOTH, THAT NO SPARKS ARE PRODUCED. MASK ADJACENT AREAS OF THE COMPONENT.

      CAUTION

      TITANIUM COMPONENT - IF THE MATERIAL SHOWS A CHANGE IN COLOR, TO DARKER THAN A LIGHT STRAW COLOR, THE COMPONENT IS TO BE REJECTED.
      1. Remove damage as necessary by dressing.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

        The maximum depth BD after dressing must not be more than 0.080 in. (2.03 mm).

        Use standard workshop equipment.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-31-110-121 Do a Swab Etch

      1. Chemically clean the repair area(s).

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-08-300-503, SUBTASK 70-11-08-300-001.

        Use chemical cleaning equipment.

      1. Swab etch the repair area(s).

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-08-300-503, SUBTASK 70-11-08-300-002.

        Use chemical cleaning equipment.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-31-230-117 Do a Local Crack Test

      1. Do a local penetrant crack test on the repair area(s).

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

        Use penetrant crack test equipment.

        Cracks are not permitted.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-31-110-122 Chemically Clean

      1. Chemically clean the repair area(s).

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.

        Use chemical cleaning equipment.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-31-220-254 Dimensionally Examine

      1. Do a dimensional inspection of the dressed area(s).

      2. Use workshop inspection equipment.

        Make sure dressed area(s) are within the limits given.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-31-310-003 Weld the HPC Front Case Slot Faces Assembly A, Assembly B, Assembly C and Stage 6 Rotor Path Groove (Assembly A only)

      1. Weld build-up the dressed area(s).

      2. Use CoMat 03-195 WELDING WIRE TITANIUM welding filler wire with argon arc welding equipment.

        Apply sufficient weld to allow slot dimensions to be recreated.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-31-220-243 Visually Examine

      1. Do a visual inspection of the welded area(s).

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-31-02-310-501-001, SUBTASK 70-31-02-220-001.

        If the weld bead shows a change in color to a darker than light straw color the component is to be rejected.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-31-350-104 Reproduce Welded Area(s) Assembly A, Assembly B and Assembly C

    2. CAUTION
