General
This Repair must only be done when the instruction to do so is given in TASK 72-41-34 Inspection/Check.
This Repair is to locally repair or replace the surface protection on the HP compressor front and rear housing assemblies.
The surface protection will be replaced after all other Repairs to the component have been completed.
The HP compressor front and rear housing assemblies will have to be disassemblied, if full replacement of the surface protection is necessary.
The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK/SUBTASK number are in the SPM.

Disassemble the front and rear housing assemblies.
SUBTASK 72-41-34-040-052 Disassemble the HP Compressor Front and Rear Housing Assemblies (as necessary)
Refer to VRS6239, TASK 72-41-34-300-015 and/or VRS6240, TASK 72-41-34-300-016 for Inspection Standards.
Make a visual/dimensional inspection of the front and rear housing components.
SUBTASK 72-41-34-220-225 Examine the HP Compressor Front and Rear Housing Assemblies (as necessary)
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-01-120-501.
Use CoMat 05-003 ABRASIVE MEDIUM ALUMINUM OXIDE, 120/220 GRADE, with abrasive blast equipment.
Abrasive blast surfaces to be painted.

Use paint spray equipment.
NOTE
Remove the masking tape before you stove the primer.
Apply primer and cure.

Locally apply the surface protection.
