Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-42-61-350-058 Remove the Damaged Bushing

      1. Use the IAE 3P16386 Jackscrew Puller 1 off to remove the damaged or worn bushings. Discard the bushings.

      1. Refer to Figure.

    2. SUBTASK 72-42-61-220-124 Examine the Bushing Hole in the Hood of the Combustion Chamber Outer Liner

      1. Measure the diameter of the hole after your remove the bushing.

      1. The diameter of the hole must be 0.519 in. to 0.521 in. (13.182 mm to 13.233 mm).

        You can repair the diameter by plasma coat or by welding.

    3. SUBTASK 72-42-61-340-051 Repair the Bushing Hole in the Hood by Plasma Spray

      1. Apply the plasma spray to repair the bushing hole.

      1. Machine the hole to the 0.519 in. to 0.521 in. (13.182 mm to 13.233 mm) diameter.

        Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501 and Figure.

    4. SUBTASK 72-42-61-310-052 Weld Repair the Bushing Hole in the Hood

      1. Weld the bushing hole to repair the diameter.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-31-13-310-501.

        Machine the bushing hole to 0.519 in. to 0.521 in. (13.182 mm to 13.233 mm) diameter.

    5. SUBTASK 72-42-61-350-059 Install the New Bushing

      1. Use IAE 3P16237 Bushing Driver 1 off to install a new bushing into the hood.

      1. Make sure the inside diameter of the new bushing is 0.447 in. to 0.449 in. (11.353 mm to 11.405 mm).

        You can put the bushing in CoMat 03-026 LIQUID NITROGEN.

        This will make the bushing cold and easier to install.

    6. SUBTASK 72-42-61-350-060 Indentify the Repair

      1. Make a mark VRS3094 adjacent to the part number.

      1. Make a permanent mark by the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
