CAUTION
HIGH PRESSURE WATER BLAST PROCEDURE WILL NOT REMOVE THE ENGINE RUN PLASMA COAT AND CAUSE POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE PART. IF NECESSARY, USE HIGH PRESSURE WATER BLAST PROCEDURE ONLY AFTER THE SPM TASK 70-33-90-300-503 TO REMOVE THE REMAINING PLASMA COAT.Refer to Figure.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-33-90-300-503.
Remove the plasma coat.
Make sure that the thickness of the base metal is a minimum of 0.041 in. (1.04 mm).
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-15-01-160-501.
If necessary, remove the remaining plasma coat by high pressure water blast.
SUBTASK 72-44-40-120-051 Remove the Plasma Coat from the Stage 1 HPT Outer Seal Assembly
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-18-380-501.
Apply a mask as necessary.
Prepare the surface for coating.
SUBTASK 72-44-40-380-002 Prepare the Surface of the Stage 1 HPT Outer Seal Assembly
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501.
Use CoMat 03-066 METAL SPRAYING POWDER, 75 CHROMIUM CARBIDE/25 (80 NICKEL - 20 CHROMIUM ALLOY), FINE at 35 psi (241.316kPa).
Apply plasma coating to the inside diameter of the seal assembly.
