Use the IAE 3M14315 Turning fixture 1 off, the Base plate 1 off and vertical turning lathe.
Refer to Figure.
Keep material removal at diameter D1 to the minimum to allow subsequent repairs.
Remove the old coating and damage fully.
Machine the diameter D1.
SUBTASK 72-50-23-325-051 Machine the Diameter D1 of the LP Turbine Case Front Flange
NOTE
If the snap diameter of the LP turbine case front flange snap diameter was plasma spray repaired before, remove the old coating fully.For dimensions refer to Figure.
Use micrometer, radius gage set and dial caliper.
Examine the machined surfaces dimensionally.
SUBTASK 72-50-21-220-079 Examine the Machined Surfaces
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
Use medium sensitivity level.
No cracks are permitted.
Do the test for cracks.

Aqueous degrease.
SUBTASK 72-50-21-110-061 Clean the LP Turbine Case (01-010)
Use the IAE 3M14316 Masking fixture 1 off and the Masking fixture 1 off.
Make sure that all adjacent surfaces are fully protected.
Refer to Figure.
Mask the areas A3.
Use dry blast cabinet, CoMat 05-046 ALUMINUM OXIDE GRIT.
The surface texture must be 120 to 200 microinch RMS (3.0 to 5.0 micrometer Ra).
Blasting in area A2 is permitted, refer to Figure.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501.
Grit blast the area A1.
SUBTASK 72-50-21-340-051 Prepare the Surfaces for the Plasma Spray Procedure
Overspray in area A2 is permitted, if it was blasted before, refer to Figure.
Make sure that there is sufficient material to do last machining.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501.
Use CoMat 03-089 METAL SPRAYING POWDER Ni/Al (95/5) or CoMat 03-090 METAL SPRAYING POWDER Ni/Al (95/5) and plasma spray equipment.
Plasma spray the area A1.
SUBTASK 72-50-21-340-052 Plasma Spray the Prepared Surfaces
Remove the IAE 3M14316 Masking fixture 1 off, the Masking fixture 1 off and all the tape.
Remove the masking.
SUBTASK 72-50-21-340-053 Remove the Protection from the Masked Areas
Use the IAE 3M14315 Turning fixture 1 off and vertical turning lathe.
For dimensions refer to Figure.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501.
Machine the coated areas and the chamfer.

Aqueous degrease.
SUBTASK 72-50-21-110-063 Clean the LP Turbine Case (01-010)
For actual dimensions refer to Figure.
Use dial caliper, micrometer, roughness microtester and radius gage set.
Examine the repaired areas dimensionally.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501 and SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501-002 for acceptance standards.
Use illuminated magnifier.
Examine the coating.
