General

This TASK gives the procedure to clean the No 5 bearing pressure tube. For the other parts of the exhaust case and fittings, refer to Cleaning - 000 TASK 72-50-53-100-100.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK numbers are in the SPM.

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-53-110-174 Remove the Grease and Oil

      1. Remove the grease and oil. Refer to SPM TASK 70-11-03-300-503.

      2. Degrease parts by aqueous cleaning.

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-53-110-113-001 Remove the Carbon or Coke

      1. Remove the coke or carbon. Refer to SPM TASK 70-11-55-110-501.

      2. Local removal of carbon by alkaline gel.

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-53-110-113-002 Remove the Carbon or Coke

      1. Remove the coke or carbon. Refer to SPM TASK 70-11-13-300-503.

      2. Clean the components (long soak, for cobalt and nickel base alloys and non-corrosion resistant steels).

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-53-110-113-003 Remove the Carbon or Coke

      1. Remove the carbon. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-52-110-501

      2. Removal of carbon from fuel and oil tubes by bake method.
