SUBTASK 75-24-47-230-065 Crack Test
Refer to Figure.
Use Chemical cleaning equipment and Press.
Install the bracket assemblies on to the vertical milling machine.
If necessary use IAE 3R19072 Trepanning cutter, 1 off or suitable equivalent with a Chemical cleaning equipment.
Machine the lip of the bearing that is to be replaced.
Use a pressure of 15 psi (1 bar) (100 KPa).
Use a Penetrant Crack Test Equipment with Press.
Remove the bearing
SUBTASK 75-24-47-350-062-001 Remove the Bearing - Method 1

CAUTION
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PRESS OUT THE BEARING. DO NOT DAMAGE THE LOCATION HOLE OF THE BEARING.Refer to Figure.
Use a pressure of 15 psi (1 bar) (100 Kpa).
Use Penetrant Crack Test Equipment with Press.
Carefully press out the bearing in the bracket assembly that is to be replaced.
SUBTASK 75-24-47-350-062-002 Remove the Bearing - Method 2

CAUTION
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PRESS OUT THE BEARING. DO NOT DAMAGE THE LOCATION HOLE OF THE BEARING.NOTE
This is an alternative to Step.Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Use Press.
Polish any scratches from the bearing location hole, as necessary.
SUBTASK 75-24-47-350-063 Polish
Refer to SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Chemically clean the area bracket assembly.
SUBTASK 75-24-47-110-065 Chemically Clean
Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
Reject.
Cracked
Do a local penetrant crack test of the bearing adjacent area(s).
SUBTASK 75-24-47-230-066 Crack Test
Refer to Figure.
Visually examine and measure the dimensions of the bearing location.
SUBTASK 75-24-47-220-082 Do a Visual and Dimensional Inspection
Refer to Figure.
For part 6A6486, 6A6587 use VTB12350E, bearing assembly, 01-530, 1 off. Alternatively use P25000 bearing assembly, 01-530, 1 off. Or use VTB12351, spherical bearing, 01-532, 1 off. Alernatively use P250001 spherical bearing, 01-532, 1 off.
Install the new bearing in to the bracket assemblies.
SUBTASK 75-24-47-350-064 Install the New Bearing
NOTE
Before you install the new bearing assembly, you must remove the ball bearing and keep it safe.Refer to Figure.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-42-06-400-501, SUBTASK 70-42-06-400-004.
Use a staking tool, 1 off, available from the bearing vendor.

Use CoMat 06-018 fluorescent penetrant or CoMat 06-022 FLUORESCENT PENETRANT (POST-EMULSIFIED ULTRA HIGH SENSITIVITY), with Standard Workshop Equipment.
Do a local penetrant crack test of the new installed bearing and the adjacent area(s).
SUBTASK 75-24-47-230-067 Do a Crack Test
Refer to Figure.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-42-06-400-501, SUBTASK 70-42-06-400-004.
Make sure the new bearing is located correctly.
Visually examine the bracket assemblies.
Use a 0.127 mm (0.005 in.) feeler gauge. A properly swaged bearing in a optimal housing will not accept the feeler gauge.
No more than 40 per cent of the circumference may accept the feeler gauge.
The bearing race face to be flush with the housing to within 0.254 mm (0.010 in).
Inspect the circumference of the gap in the swaged lip to housing chamfer.
SUBTASK 75-24-47-220-083 Do a Visual and Dimensional Inspection
Apply a load of 600 lbf to each side of the staked bearing.
The load is to be applied to the bearing housing and is to be applied along the axis of the spherical bearing through the hole.
The bearing must not move during the test.
NOTE
No load to be passed onto the ball of the bearing.
Select one bearing for a pull out check.
SUBTASK 75-24-47-350-066 Do a Bearing Pull Out Check
Make sure you get a smooth movement.
Install the ball bearing(s) and examine the movement of the ball in the bearing.
