Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-33-320-061 Skim Grind to Remove Dents, Nicks, Tool Marks, Galling and Wear from the Rear Face of HPT Stage 2 Blade

      1. Skim grind to remove dents, nicks, tool marks, galling and wear from the rear face of HPT Stage 2 Blade Retaining Plate to the limits specified in Figure.

      2. Remove an additional 0.002 in. - 0.003 in. (0.051 mm - 0.076 mm) of parent material beyond the depth of damage.

      3. Remove the minimum amount of parent material necessary to accomplish the repair.

      4. Restore the radii to the limits specified in Figure.

      5. Break edges 0.003 in. - 0.015 in. (0.077 mm - 0.381 mm) all around on HPT Stage 2 Blade Retaining Plate rear face.

      6. Surface texture 63 Ra must be maintained.

      7. No mismatch is allowed.

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-33-110-064 Clean the Part

    2. Clean the part by SPM TASK 70-11-03-300-503.

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-33-230-068 Do a Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection of the Part

      1. Do a fluorescent penetrant inspection of the part by SPM TASK 70-23-04-230-501.

      2. Cracks are not permitted.

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-33-380-060 Shotpeen the Repaired Area(s)

      1. Shotpeen the repaired area(s) on HPT Stage 2 Blade Retaining Plate by SPM TASK 70-38-13-380-501. See Figure.

      2. Use an intensity of 4A and S-170, CW-20 or SCW-20 maximum shot size.

      3. Shotpeen overspray permitted, minimum intensity waived but complete coverage is required.

      4. Shotpeen is not permitted on any finish coated surfaces and marking location.

      5. No rolled edges or sharp lines of demarcation are permitted.

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-33-220-100 Do a Dimensional Inspection of the Part

      1. Do a dimensional inspection of the part. See Figure.

      2. Do a dimensional inspection of Index 1 and Index 4 of Figure. Refer to applicable Inspection-001, TASK 72-45-33-200-001-A00, TASK 72-45-33-200-001-B00 or TASK 72-45-33-200-001-C00.

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-33-350-064 Mark the Part

      1. Mark VRS3853 adjacent to the part number. See Figure.

      2. Make a permanent mark by the procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501. Marking must be accomplished with only deep electrolytic etch, vibration peen, or deep dot peen.

    NOTE: For PNs 2A0160 and 2A1813: All dimensions are applicable when Surface F is flat within 0.001 inch (0.026 mm) and Diameter G keeps a clearance envelope of 17.387 Inches (441.630 mm) diameter in a free or held condition. Hold the part only on Surfaces F, H, S, T and Diameter G.

    NOTE: For PNs 2A2097, 2A3426 and 2A3437: All dimensions are applicable when Surface F is flat within 0.001 inch (0.026 mm) and Diameter G keeps a clearance envelope of 17.215 Inches (437.261 mm) diameter in a free or held condition. Hold the part only on Surfaces F, H, S, T and Diameter G.
