General

This TASK gives the procedure for the inspection of the roller bearing.

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC.

The policy that is necessary for inspection is given in the SPM TASK 70-20-01-200-501.

All the parts must be cleaned before any part is examined. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-10-00-100-501.

All parts must be visually examined for damage, corrosion and wear. Any defects that are not identified in the procedure must be referred to IAE.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK number are in the SPM.

      1. Examine the roller bearing for general damages.

    2. SUBTASK 72-60-22-220-114 Examine the Roller Bearing (72-60-22,01-500) Outer Diameter at Location 1

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Diameter.

        1. Between 2.9528 in. and 2.9524 in. (75.000 mm and 74.991 mm).

        1. Accept.

        2. Less than 2.9524 in. (74.991 mm).

        1. Reject.

    3. SUBTASK 72-60-22-220-115 Examine the Roller Bearing (01-500) Inner Diameter at Location 2

    1. Refer to Figure.

        1. Between 1.7320 in. and 1.7323 in. (43.992 mm and 44.000 mm).

      2. Measure the inner radial clearance; apply a load of 11 lb (5 kg).

        1. Between 0.0024 in. and 0.0030 in. (0.060 mm and 0.075 mm).
