General

This TASK gives the procedure for the inspection of the roller bearing.

Fig/Item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC.

The policy that is necessary for inspection is given in SPM TASK 70-20-01-200-501.

All the parts must be cleaned before any part is examined. Refer to SPM TASK 70-10-00-100-501.

All parts must be visually examined for damage, corrosion and wear. Any defects that are identified in the procedure must be referred to IAE.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK numbers are in SPM.

      1. Examine the roller bearing for general damages.

      2. Refer to SPM TASK 70-29-01-290-501.

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Diameter.

        1. Between 2.9528 in. and 2.9525 in. (75.000 mm and 74.993 mm).

        2. Accept.

        1. Less than 2.9525 in. (74.993 mm).

        2. Reject.

    1. SUBTASK 72-60-24-220-090 Examine the Roller Bearing (72-60-24,01-100) Inner Diameter at Location 2

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Diameter.

        1. Between 1.7714 in. and 1.7717 in. (44.994 mm and 45.000 mm).

      1. Measure the inner radial clearance; apply a load of 11 lb (5 kg).

        1. Between 0.0022 in. and 0.0028 in. (0.055 mm and 0.070 mm).

        2. Accept.
