General
This TASK gives the procedure to install the No. 4 bearing compartment scavenge valve to the engine.
Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.
For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the Fig/item number.
Lubricate all threads and abutment faces of nuts and bolts with CoMat 10-077 APPROVED ENGINE OILS , unless other lubricants are referred to in the procedure.
For the torque tightening procedures, refer to SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501 and TASK 70-41-01-400-501.
For the lockwire data and procedures refer to SPM TASK 70-42-05-400-501.
To identify, lubricate and install seal rings, refer to SPM TASK 70-44-01-400-501.
For the data on the electrical connectors refer to SPM TASK 70-43-00-400-501 and TASK 70-43-01-400-501.
The engine must be isolated from starting air supply, fuel supply and electrical power source while you do this procedure.

Safety Requirements
NONEProcedure
Make a clean lint free cloth moist with CoMat 01-124 ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL.
Clean the de-oiler case.
Lubricate the sealing ring with CoMat 10-077 APPROVED ENGINE OILS.
Install No. 4 Bearing Compartment Scavenge Valve (79-23-51, 01-130) sealing ring 1 off.
Install the valve into the hole in the de-oiler case and safety with the three bolts No. 4 Bearing Compartment Scavenge Valve (79-23-51, 01-120).
Install the valve to the de-oiler case.
SUBTASK 72-00-60-450-087 Install the No. 4 Bearing Compartment Scavenge Valve
Connect the oil tube Engine Scavenge Oil Tubes (79-22-49, 04-500) to the valve.
Connect the oil tube Engine Scavenge Oil Tubes (79-22-49, 04-500) to the oil tube Engine Scavenge Oil Tubes (79-22-49, 04-100).
Connect the oil tube OIL-SCAVENGE OIL TUBES-ENGINE (79-22-49, 05-100) to the oil tube Engine Scavenge Oil Tubes (79-22-49, 04-500).
Torque the bolts and the nuts of the clips on the oil tube Engine Scavenge Oil Tubes (79-22-49, 04-500) to 36 lbfin to 40 lbfin (4.07 Nm to 4.52 Nm).
Torque the nut of the oil tube Engine Scavenge Oil Tubes (79-22-49, 04-100) to 566 lbfin to 611 lbfin (64.00 Nm to 69.00 Nm) with IAE 1R18003 Wrench 1 off.
Torque the nut of the oil tube Engine Scavenge Oil Tubes (79-22-49, 04-500) to 566 lbfin to 611 lbfin (64.00 Nm to 69.00 Nm) with IAE 1R18003 Wrench 1 off.
Torque the nut of the oil tube OIL-SCAVENGE OIL TUBES-ENGINE (79-22-49, 05-100) to 159 lbfin to 177 lbfin (18.00 Nm to 20.00 Nm).
Safety the nuts of the oil tubes Engine Scavenge Oil Tubes (79-22-49, 04-100 and OIL-SCAVENGE OIL TUBES-ENGINE 79-22-49, 05-100) with CoMat 02-147 LOCKWIRE.
SUBTASK 72-00-60-450-088 Connect the Oil Tube
Refer to Figure.
Connect the air tube AIR-BEARING COMPARTMENT COOLING & SEALING TUBES (75-22-49, 07-100) to the valve.
NOTE
Carefully install the lockwire not to loosen the bolts of the valve.Safety the nuts of the oil tube Engine Scavenge Oil Tubes (79-22-49, 04-500) and the air tube to the two bolts of the valve with CoMat 02-147 LOCKWIRE.
SUBTASK 72-00-60-450-089 Connect the Air Tube and the Electrical Connector
Refer to Figure.
Make sure that all the applicable backshells and cable clamps are safetied with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE. Refer to SPM TASK 70-42-05-400-501.
