General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

Transportation covers/blanks must be removed immediately before the installation of the components.

Refer to the V2500 Illustrated Tool and Equipment Manual (ITEM), Pub. ref. ITE-V2500-1IA, for the illustrations of the special tools given in this procedure.

Lubricate all threads and abutment faces of nuts and bolts with approved engine oils, unless other lubricants are referred in the procedure. For the approved engine oils and procedures, refer to SPM TASK 70-64-00-640-501.

To identify, lubricate and install seal rings, refer to SPM TASK 70-64-02-640-501.

For standard torque data and procedures refer to SPM TASK 70-41-02-400-501.

Special torque data and assembly tolerances are included in the procedure.

For lockwire data and procedures refer to SPM TASK 70-42-05-400-501.

After assembly repair any damaged surfaces protection, joint flanges and attach parts. Refer to SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-051 Install the oil Tank Assembly to Suitable Support

    1. Install the Oil Tank assembly to suitable support.

    2. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-052-A00 Install the Cover Assembly (01-410) (Pre SBE 79-0022)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-420) packing 1 on the cover assembly.

    3. Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin into the bolts holes on the cover assembly attaching boss. Install the pins in opposite position.

    4. Install the cover assembly to the boss, with the outlet tube turned to the top.

    6. Attach the cover assembly with the four bolts. Torque the bolts to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    3. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-052-B00 Install the Cover Assembly and the Bracket (01-410) (SBE 79-0022) SBE 79-0022: Oil - Add a bracket for securing the dust covers lanyards.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-420) packing on the cover assembly.

    3. Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin in to the bolts holes on the cover assembly attaching boss. Install the pins in opposite position.

    4. Install the cover assembly to the boss, with the outlet tube turned to the top.

    6. Install the bracket OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-418) with the bolt to the cover assembly.

    7. Install the remaining three bolts.

    8. Torque the four bolts to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    4. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-053 Install the Plugs (72-60-03, 01-710) and (72-60-03, 01-730) to the Cover Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install Transportation Fittings (72-60-03, 01-700) packing on the plug groove Transportation Fittings (72-60-03, 01-710).

    3. Install Transportation Fittings (72-60-03, 01-720) packing on the plug groove Transportation Fittings (72-60-03, 01-730).

    4. Install the two plugs in their seats on the cover assembly. Torque the plugs to 53 lbfin to 71 lbfin (6 Nm to 8 Nm).

    5. Safety the two plugs together with CoMat 02-141 LOCKWIRE.

    5. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-054 Install the Deaerator Assembly (01-240)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-255) packing on the deaerator assembly groove.

    3. Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin into the bolts holes on the deaerator assembly attaching boss. Install the pins in opposite position.

    4. Install the deaerator assembly to the boss, with the oil scavenge tube mating flange tuned to the starboard side of the tank. Align the boltholes with the guide pins.

    6. Attach the deaerator assembly with the six bolts and washer. Torque the bolts to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    6. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-055-A00 Install the Oil Tank Level Indicator (01-100) (Pre SBE 79-0013)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-140) packing on the oil level indicator.

    3. Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin into the boltholes of the oil tank level indicator attaching boss.

    4. Install the oil level indicator to the boss, with the mirror face pointed outboard side of the tank. Align the boltholes with the guide pins.

    5. Remove the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin from the connector assembly.

    6. Attach the oil level indicator with the two bolts. Torque the bolts to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    7. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-055-B01 Install the Connector assembly (01-144) (SBE 79-0013) SBE 79-0013: Oil - Provide a new oil tank level indicator.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-148) packing on the connector assembly.

    3. Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin into the bolts holes of the connector assembly attaching boss.

    4. Install the connector assembly on the boss of the deaerator flange. Align the boltholes with the guide pins.

    6. Attach the connector assembly with the two bolts and washer. Torque the bolts to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    8. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-055-B02 Install the Oil Tank Level Indicator (01-100) (SBE 79-0013) (Pre SBE 79-0025) SBE 79-0013: Oil - Provide a new oil tank level indicator.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-140) packing on the oil level indicator.

    3. Install the oil level indicator to the connector assembly flange, with the mirror face pointed outboard side of the tank. Align the boltholes with the holes in prismalite flange.

    4. Attach the oil level indicator with the two bolts. Torque the bolts to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    9. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-056 Install the Cover (01-102) and the Bracket (01-101) (SBE 79-0025) SBE 79-0025: Oil - Provide a sight glass oil tank level indicator for the oil level indicator for the oil tank assembly.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-148) packing on the cover.

    3. Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin into the bolts holes of the cover attaching boss.

    4. Install the cover to the deaerator assembly and the bracket on the cover.

    6. Install the two bolts. Torque the bolts to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    10. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-057-A00 Install the Union Adaptor (01-180) (Pre SBE 79-0025)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-160) packing on the union adaptor.

    3. Install the union adaptor to the deaerator assembly. Torque the union adaptor to 53 lbfin to 73 lbfin (6 Nm to 8 Nm).

    11. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-057-B00 Install the Plug (01-182) (SBE 79-0025) SBE 79-0025: Oil - Provide a sight glass oil level indicator for the oil level indicator for the oil tank assembly.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-160) packing on the plug.

    3. Install the plug to the deaerator assembly. Torque the plug to 53 lbfin to 71 lbfin (6 Nm to 8 Nm).

    12. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-058-A00 Install the Cover (72-60-03, 01-650) (Pre SBE 79-0023)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install Transportation Fittings (72-60-03, 01-670) packing on the cover.

    3. Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin in to the boltholes on the cover attaching boss.

    4. Install the cover to the boss. Align the boltholes with the guide pins.

    6. Attach the cover with the four bolts. Torque the bolts to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    13. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-058-B00 Install the Plate (01-357) and the Cover (72-60-03, 01-650) SBE 79-0023: Oil - Provide an oil tank overfill warning plate.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install Transportation Fittings (72-60-03, 01-670) packing on the cover.

    3. Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin into the boltholes on the cover attaching boss.

    4. Install the cover to the boss. Align the boltholes with the guide pins.

    6. Position the plate on the cover. Align the boltholes.

    7. Attach the cover and the plate with the four bolts. Torque to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    14. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-059 Install the Filler Neck Assembly (01-590)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-605) packing and OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-610) packing on the filler neck assembly.

    3. Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin into the boltholes on the filler neck assembly attaching boss.

    4. Install the filler neck assembly to the boss with the filler neck port pointed outboard of the oil tank assembly. Align the boltholes with the guide pins.

    6. Attach the filler neck assembly with the four bolts. Torque the bolts to 85 lbfin to 95 lbfin (9.604 Nm to 10.734 Nm).

    15. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-061 Install the Cap Assembly (01-780)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-760) packing on the cap assembly.

    3. Align the lock of the cap assembly with the two slots on the filler neck port and install it.

    4. Turn the handle of the cap assembly clockwise until it stops.

    5. Lower the handle of the cap assembly from open to close position.

    6. Attach the two connecting rings of the wire rope assembly OIL-OIL TANK (01-800) to the holes in the cap assembly and in to the filler neck assembly.

    16. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-062 Install the Union Adaptor (01-094) and Tube Closure Nut (01-090) (SBE 79-0014) SB 79-0014: Oil - Introduce an oil tank with a revised filler neck location.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-092) packing on the union adaptor.

    3. Install the union adaptor to the oil tank assembly. Torque the union adaptor to 53 lbfin to 73 lbfin (6 Nm to 8 Nm).

    4. Install the tube closure nut to the union adaptor. Torque the tube closure nut to 53 lbfin to 71 lbfin (6 Nm to 8 Nm).

    5. Safety the tube closure nut to the union adaptor with CoMat 02-141 LOCKWIRE.

    17. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-063 Install the Union Adaptor (01-094) (SBE 79-0025) SBE 79-0025: Oil - Provide a sight glass oil level indicator for the oil level indicator for the oil tank assembly.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Install OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-092) packing on the union adaptor.

    3. Install the union adaptor to the oil tank assembly. Torque the union adaptor to 53 lbfin to 73 lbfin (6 Nm to 8 Nm).

    18. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-064 Install the Cover (01-080) (SBE 79-0014) (Pre SBE 79-0025) SBE 79-0014: Oil - Introduce an oil tank with a revised filler neck location.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Position the cover on the boss of the oil tank assembly.

    3. Align the eight screw holes.

    4. Attach the cover with the eight screws. Torque to 35 lbfin to 40 lbfin (0.394 Nm to 4.519 Nm).

    5. Safety the union adaptor OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-094) to the cover with CoMat 02-141 LOCKWIRE.

    19. SUBTASK 79-11-41-460-065 Install the Sight Glass (01-081) (SBE 79-0025) SBE 79-0025: Oil - Provide a sight glass oil level indicator for the oil level indicator for the oil tank assembly.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Position OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-083) sight glass gasket and sight-glass on the boss of the oil tank assembly.

    3. Align the screw holes.

    4. Install the eight screws. Apply equal force in a cross sequence from 1 to 8 until they are seated. Refer to Figure.

    5. Torque the screws follow the correct sequence, to 27 lbfin to 29 lbfin (3.050 Nm to 3.276 Nm).

    6. Safety the union adaptor OIL-OIL TANK (79-11-41, 01-094) to the sight glass with CoMat 02-141 LOCKWIRE.
