Component repair or replacement test requirements

At times, fuel, oil, or electrical lines must be disconnected to give access to the component which must be repaired or replaced. If the lines are disconnected, more tests are required.

If fuel lines are disconnected, Test No. 3 is required.

If oil lines are disconnected, Test No. 3 or 1 is required.

If electrical harnesses are disconnected, Test No. 6 is required.

NOTE

If there is a selection of tests (example: 3 or 1), the first test shown is recommended. If two tests are shown (example: 3 and 9), the two tests are necessary.

NOTE

After a 7A valve or solenoid change, it will be required to operate the engine above MIN IDLE to a level of 1.25 EPR for engines equipped with EEC software below SCN12C. In this case, ignore the NOTE in TASK 71-00-00-700-003-A00 (TESTING-003, CONFIG-001), which tells you to operate the engine at MIN IDLE only for Test No. 3.

NOTE

For engines equipped with SCN12C software and above after a 7B or 7C valve or solenoid change, obey the NOTE in TASK 71-00-00-700-003-A00 (TESTING-003, CONFIG-001), which tells you to operate the engine at MIN IDLE only for Test No. 3.
