Procedure
Do the necessary steps by the instructions in Pre-Rig the Engine for Testing. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-020 (TESTING-020).
Open the slave nacelle system ducts and make sure they are held open during engine operation.
Start the engine by the instructions given for an automatic or manual engine start. Refer to the Normal Engine Automatic Start Procedure or the Normal Engine Manual Start Procedure, TASK 71-00-00-700-053-B01 (TESTING-000, CONFIG-002) and TASK 71-00-00-700-053-B02 (TESTING-000, CONFIG-002) .
NOTE
Operate the engine at MIN IDLE only for this test except when a change of a 7A bleed valve or solenoid has been done on an engine equipped with EEC software below SCN10 where the engine will be required to operate at 1.2 EPR. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-052-B00 (TESTING-000, CONFIG-002).Do not continue to operate the engine if any indications are unusual.

WARNING
MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY THE PRECAUTIONS THAT ARE GIVEN FOR PERSONS TO OPERATE AN ENGINE SAFELY. INJURY CAN RESULT IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE PRECAUTIONS. REFER TO TASK 71-00-00700-050-B00 (TESTING-000, CONFIG-001).Do an inspection of the engine for leaks.
NOTE
If you must do a check of the electronic engine control you can do Test No. 6 the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) System Idle Test at this time. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-006 (TESTING-006).Do a shutdown by the Discontinued Start and Shutdown Procedures. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-054-B00. (TESTING-000, CONFIG-002)
Do an inspection of the engine for leaks.
NOTE
If you see oil wetness from the No. 4 bearing compartment weep tube exit at the bottom of the turbine exhaust case, and you see the wetness after consecutive starting cycles, do the dry out procedure that follows before you advance the TLA above idle power.NOTE
Run the engine at Approach Idle for 20 minutes.Inspect the No. 4 bearing compartment weep tube exit at the bottom of the turbine exhaust case for signs of oil. If you see wetness, contact IAE for instructions.Correct the leaks and do the test again as necessary.
If more tests are to be done, close the slave nacelle system ducts.
Do the necessary steps by the instructions in De-Rig the Engine after Testing. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-021 (TESTING-021).
