General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the Fig/item number.

Lubricate all threads and abutment faces of nuts and bolts with CoMat 10-077 APPROVED ENGINE OILS unless other lubricants are referred to in the procedure.

Do not remove the special plastic caps from the electrical connectors and receptacles until immediately before they are connected. This will give protection from unwanted fluids or materials.

During the installation procedure make sure that the harnesses are held temporarily along their different lengths. This is to prevent too much strain on the harnesses, cables and electrical connectors.

For the data on the electrical connectors refer to the SPM TASK 70-43-00-400-501 and TASK 70-43-01-400-501.

For the torque tightening procedures, refer to the SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501 and TASK 70-41-01-400-501.

Special torque data and assembly tolerances are included in this procedure.

Special torque data is identified with the symbol * after the torque value.

For lockwire data and procedures refer to SPM TASK 70-42-05-400-501.

For safety cable data and procedures refer to the SPM TASK 70-42-08-400-501.

Safety the threaded fasteners in the ATA Chapter/Section/Subject 71-51-41 as applicable with CoMat 02-274 SAFETY CABLE KIT or CoMat 02-275 SAFETY CABLE KIT.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-32-450-052 Install the Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (51.9 degrees) (75-32-51,01-100) (Pre SBE 75-0047, Pre SBE 75-0109, SBE 75-0047 and SBE 75-0109)

    1. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

    2. Pre SBE 75-0047 and Pre SBE 75-0109: Install the solenoid valve to the bracket HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-160) with the three bolts and the three washers HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-102) and HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-104). Torque the bolts to 36 to 45 lbf.in (4 to 5 Nm).

    3. SBE 75-0047 and SBE 75-0109: Install the solenoid valve to the bracket HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-160) with the three bolts, the three washers and the two nuts HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-102), HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-104) and HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-106). Torque the bolts to 36 to 45 lbf.in (4 to 5 Nm).

    4. Refer to TASK 72-00-32-450-012 for the procedure to connect the tube 148 during this procedure. Connect the tube 148 to the stage 10 air solenoid valve and the tube 149 (branch tube), torque the tube nuts to 204 to 201 lbf.in (23 to 25 Nm).

    5. Connect the tube 149 to the solenoid valve union. Torque the tube nut to 204 to 221 lbf.in (23 to 25 Nm).

    6. Connect the tube 154 to the solenoid valve union. Torque the tube nut to 159 to 177 lbf.in (18 to 20 Nm).

    7. Safety the tube 148, 149 and 154 nuts with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE.

    8. Remove the CoMat 06-086 TIES which attach the electrical harness/connectors 4020KS1-A and 4029KS-A to the primary harness bundle. Connect the electrical connector 4020KS1-A to the solenoid valve receptacle and the connector 4029KS-A to the stage 10 air solenoid valve, refer to TASK 72-00-32-450-012. Torque the electrical connectors to 18* lbf.in (2.0 Nm).

    9. Install the bolts, the washers and the nuts at the datum clip position 1021 and the clip position 1081, refer to TASK 72-00-32-450-012. Torque the nuts to 36 to 45 lbf.in (4 to 5 Nm).

    10. Attach the electrical harnesses together, as necessary, with CoMat 02-159 LACING TAPE. Refer to TASK 72-00-32-420-004.

    2. SUBTASK 72-00-32-450-053 Install the Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (228 degrees) (75-32-51,01-100) (Pre SBE 75-0047, Pre SBE 75-0109, SBE 75-0047 and SBE 75-0109)

    1. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

    2. Pre SBE 75-0047 and Pre SBE 75-0109: Install the solenoid valve to the bracket HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-160) with the three bolts and the three washers HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-102) and HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-104). Torque the bolts to 36 to 45 lbf.in (4 to 5 Nm).

    3. SBE 75-0047 and SBE 75-0109: Install the solenoid valve to the bracket HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-160) with the three bolts, the three washers and the three nuts HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-102), HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-104) and HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-106). Torque the bolts to 36 to 45 lbf.in (4 to 5 Nm).

    4. Connect the tube 146 tube nuts to the solenoid valve union and the tube 149 (branch tube). Torque the tube nuts to 204 to 221 lbf.in (23 to 25 Nm).

    5. Connect the tube 197 to the solenoid valve union. Torque the tube nut to 159 to 177 lbf.in (18 to 20 Nm).

    6. Safety the tube 146 and 197 nuts with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE.

    7. Connect and torque the electrical connector 4020KS3-A to 18* lbf.in (2.0 Nm). Install the datum clip position 1021. Refer to Step.

    3. SUBTASK 72-00-32-450-054 Install the Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (108.8 degrees) (75-32-51,01-100) (Pre SBE 75-0047, Pre SBE 75-0109, SBE 75-0047 and SBE 75-0109)

    1. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

    2. Pre SBE 75-0047 and Pre SBE 75-0109: Install the solenoid valve to the bracket HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-160) with the three bolts and the three washers HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-102) and HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-104). Torque the bolts to 36 to 45 lbf.in (4 to 5 Nm).

    3. SBE 75-0047 and SBE 75-0109: Install the solenoid valve to the bracket HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-160) with the three bolts, the three washers and the three nuts HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-102), HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-104) and HPC Stage 7 Solenoid Valve (75-32-51, 01-106). Torque the bolts to 36 to 45 lbf.in (4 to 5 Nm).

    4. Connect the tube 198 tube nuts to the solenoid valve union and the tube 149 (branch tube). Torque the tube nuts to 204 to 221 lbf.in (23 to 25 Nm).

    5. Connect the tube 196 to the solenoid valve union. Torque the tube nut to 159 to 177 lbf.in (18 to 20 Nm).

    6. Safety the tube 198 and 196 nuts with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE.

    7. Connect and torque the electrical connector 4020KS2-A to 18* lbf.in (2.0 Nm). Install the datum clip position 1021. Refer to Step.

    4. SUBTASK 72-00-32-210-063 Visually Inspect the Electrical Backshells and Cable Clamps

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Make sure that all the applicable connectors, backshells and cable clamps are secure.

    3. Make sure that all the applicable backshells and cable clamps are safetied with CoMat 02-126 LOCKWIRE. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-42-05-400-501.

    5. SUBTASK 72-00-32-210-064 Visually Inspect the EEC Harness (01-005) Electrical Backshells and Cable Clamps (SBE 70-0813)

    1. SBE 70-0813: Announcement of introduction of safety cable as a preferred method to lockwire.

    2. NOTE

      Use this procedure to safety the EEC harness backshells and cable clamps with safety cable.

      Refer to Figure.

    3. Make sure that all the EEC harness connectors, backshells and cable clamps are secure.

    4. Make sure that all the EEC harness backshells and cable clamps are safetied. Safety with CoMat 02-274 SAFETY CABLE KIT or with CoMat 02-275 SAFETY CABLE KIT. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-42-08-400-501.
