TASK 72-32-19-100-001 Hydraulic Seal - Clean, Cleaning-001
General
This TASK gives the procedure to clean the hydraulic seal assembly. For the other hydraulic seal assembly parts, refer to TASK 72-32-19-100-000.
The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK numbers are in the SPM.
Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC.

Remove the soft dirt and dust. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.
Dry.
SUBTASK 72-32-19-110-051 Remove the Soft Dirt and Dust
Use CoMat 01-041 ALKALINE RUST REMOVER. Immersion time must not over 15 minutes.
Soak. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-29-300-503
Use cold water. Use an air/water pressure gun.
NOTE
If the dry film lubricant is still present, do Step.
Wash.
Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.
Dry.
SUBTASK 72-32-19-110-052 Remove the Dry Film Lubricant
Soak. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-11-300-503 SUBTASK 70-11-11-300-002.
Use clean dry air blast or CoMat 02-099 LINT-FREE CLOTH.
Dry.
SUBTASK 72-32-19-110-053 Remove the Residual Dry Film Lubricant
Refer to Figure.
Use CoMat 01-144 ALKALINE RUST REMOVER. Immersion time must not be over 90 minutes.
Soak. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-13-300-503.
Remove coking residue by dry plastic blast. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-07-120-501.
Remove all abrasive media. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-07-120-501.
Put the fiberscope in position to examine the inside of the hydraulic seal assembly. Use industrial fiberscope IF2D5-9 (insertion tube is 0.10in. (2,5 mm)) diameter, IF4D5-7 (insertion tube is 0.16in. (4,1 mm)) diameter or equivalent.
If there is deposit reside of coking, it is not acceptable.
Examine the coked area of the inside of the hydraulic seal assembly.
Do a boroscope inspection for coking.
If there is deposit residue of coking, it is not acceptable.
Examine the coked area of the outside of the hydraulic seal assembly.
If coking is still present, do steps 8.A. to 8.H
Apply the temporary rust preventative per TASK 70-38-05-380-501

CAUTION
BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE SURFACE OF THE HYDRAULIC SEAL ASSEMBLY WHEN REMOVING COKING BY SCRAPER.
