TASK 72-00-60-450-001-B00 External Gearbox Components - Install The Dedicated Alternator Stator, Installation-005

General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the Fig/item number.

Lubricate all threads and abutment faces of nuts and bolts with CoMat 10-077 APPROVED ENGINE OILS approved engine oils, unless other lubricants are referred to in the procedure.

Special torque data is identified with the symbol * after the torque value.

For standard torque data and procedures refer to the SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501, SPM TASK 70-41-01-400-501 and SPM TASK 70-41-02-400-501.

To identify, lubricate and install seal rings refer to the SPM TASK 70-44-01-400-501.

For lockwire data and procedures refer to the SPM TASK 70-42-05-400-501.

For safety cable data and procedures refer to the SPM TASK 70-42-08-400-501.

Safety the threaded fasteners in the ATA Chapter/Section/Subject 71-51-41 as applicable with CoMat 02-274 SAFETY CABLE KIT or CoMat 02-275 SAFETY CABLE KIT.

After assembly apply CoMat 07-038 AIR DRYING ENAMEL to any damaged surface protection, joint flanges and attaching parts. Use the correct color of air drying enamel. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-21-380-501.

Transportation covers/blanks must not be removed until immediately before installation of the components.

Do not remove the special plastic caps from electrical connections until immediately before installation. This will give protection from unwanted material.

For the data on the electrical connectors refer to the SPM TASK 70-43-00-400-501.

NOTE

To identify the consumable materials refer to the PCI.
SBE 70-0813: Announcement of introduction of safety cable as a preferred method to lockwire.
Safety the threaded fasteners in this TASK with safety cable for the ATA Chapter/Section/Subject detailed in 2. General.

    4. Examine the mating faces for high metal and remove if applicable.

    5. Lightly lubricate a newDedicated Alternator Stator (73-22-38, 01-110) sealing ring1 off with CoMat 10-077 APPROVED ENGINE OILS and install it on the dedicated alternator stator Dedicated Alternator Stator (73-22-38, 01-100).

    6. Pre SBE 73-0093: Attach the dedicated alternator stator to the external gearbox with the three bolts Dedicated Alternator Stator (73-22-38, 01-106) and the three nuts Dedicated Alternator Stator (73-22-38, 01-102). Torque the nuts to 85 to 105 lbfin (10 to 12 Nm).

    7. SBE 73-0093: Attach the dedicated alternator stator to the external gearbox with the three bolts PMA Shaft, Rotor, and Housing Assembly (72-60-33, 01-440) and the three nuts PMA Shaft, Rotor, and Housing Assembly (72-60-33, 01-430). Torque the nuts to 85 to 105 lbfin (10 to 12 Nm).

    8. Deleted.

    9. Deleted.

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-60-450-119-B00 Install the Stator Generator (SBE 73-0076, Pre SBE 73-0093 and SBE 73-0093)

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Clean the mating faces of the stator generator. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.

    4. Examine the mating faces for high metal and remove if applicable.

    5. Lightly lubricate a new Dedicated Alternator Stator (73-22-38, 01-110) sealing ring1 off with CoMat 10-077 APPROVED ENGINE OILS, and install it on the stator generator Dedicated Alternator Stator (73-22-38, 01-100).

    6. NOTE

The correct position of the component on the gearbox will be when the position number 1 marked on the stator generator casing is at approximately 3 o'clock position when viewed from the front.

Pre SBE 73-0093: Attach the stator generator to the external gearbox with the three bolts Dedicated Alternator Stator (73-22-38, 01-106) and the three nuts Dedicated Alternator Stator (73-22-38, 01-102). Torque the nuts to 85 to 105 lbfin (10 to 12 Nm).

    7. NOTE

The correct position of the component on the gearbox will be when the position number 1 marked on the stator generator casing is at approximately 3 o'clock position when viewed from the front.

SBE 73-0093: Attach the stator generator to the external gearbox with the three bolts PMA Shaft, Rotor, and Housing Assembly (72-60-33, 01-440) and the three nuts PMA Shaft, Rotor, and Housing Assembly (72-60-33, 01-430). Torque the nuts to 85 to 105 lbfin (10 to 12 Nm).

      1. CAUTION

YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE ALTERNATOR SHROUD IN THE CORRECT POSITION ON THE STATOR GENERATOR TO PREVENT THE COMPONENTS FROM OVERHEATING AND DAMAGE DURING IN SERVICE OPERATIONS.
