TASK 71-00-00-810-024 N1 Vibration Spread Out of Limits

General

This task is applicable if during engine test the VFAVM-1 and VFAVM-2 vibration spread is out of limits.

If vibration is out of limits below a 40 Hz amplitude frequency. Do the following:

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 71-00-00-810-060 Examine the Vibration Harness and Electrical Harness Connectors from the Vibration Transducer to the EVMU

    1. Make sure the harness connectors are clean and free from damage and wear. Refer to SPM TASK 70-43-01-400-501.

    2. SUBTASK 71-00-00-810-061 Remove the Vibration Transducer (77-32-15,01-100)

    1. Refer to TASK 72-00-32-020-002-A00 (REMOVAL-002) for A1 engines or TASK 72-00-32-020-002 (REMOVAL-002) for A5 engines.

    3. SUBTASK 71-00-00-810-062 Examine the Vibration Transducer (77-32-15,01-100)

    1. Make sure that the transducer surface is free from raised material. Refer to vibrometer Component Maintenance Manual (77-32-15).

    4. SUBTASK 71-00-00-810-063 Install the vibration Transducer (77-32-15,01-100)

    1. Refer to TASK 72-00-32-420-004-A00 (INSTALLATION-004) and TASK 72-00-32-420-004-D00 (INSTALLATION-004) for A1 engines or TASK 72-00-32-420-004-B00 (INSTALLATION-004) and TASK 72-00-32-420-004-C00 (INSTALLATION-004) for A5 engines.

    5. SUBTASK 71-00-00-810-064 Do a Vibration Survey

    1. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-008-A00 (TESTING-000, CONFIG-001) for A1-engines or TASK 71-00-00-700-008-B00 (TESTING-000, CONFIG-001) for A5 engines.

      2. If the VFAVM-1 and VFAVM-2 vibration spread is out of limits, check the following:

        1. If vibration is out of limits below a 40 Hz amplitude frequency and all other vibration levels are in limits

        1. Accept

        2. If vibration is out of limits below a 40 Hz amplitude frequency and all other vibration levels are out of limits

        1. Replace the vibration transducer. Refer to TASK 72-00-32-020-002-A00, SUBTASK 72-00-32-020-063 and TASK 72-00-32-420-004-A00, SUBTASK 72-00-32-420-052 for A1 engines or TASK 72-00-32-020-002-B00, SUBTASK 72-00-32-020-199, TASK 72-00-32-420-004-B00, SUBTASK 72-00-32-420-220 and TASK 72-00-32-020-002-C00, SUBTASK 72-00-32-020-252 for A5 engines.
